Removal and Installation

1. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. For additional information, refer to «HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS»(ref-365414) .
2. If equipped, remove the tilt release lever/handle.
3. Remove the 3 steering column shroud screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
4. Disconnect the multifunction switch electrical connectors.
5. Remove the 2 screws and the multifunction switch. To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

ITEM DESCRIPTION CHART

1. Remove the 2 bolts and position the hood latch release handle aside.
2. Remove the 2 bolts and the steering column opening trim panel.
3. Remove the 5 steering column opening reinforcement bolts and the reinforcement. To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
4. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
5. NOTE: The ignition switch should be in the OFF position. Remove the 2 ignition switch screws and the ignition switch. To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

ITEM DESCRIPTION CHART

1. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder in the following sequence. Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch lock cylinder and turn to the RUN position. Push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.
2. If equipped, remove the tilt release lever/handle.
3. Remove the 3 steering column shroud screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
4. Remove the key release button bolt and the key release button and spring. To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
