REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
- Remove the spark plug wires by slightly twisting while pulling upwards.
- Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 bolts and the ignition coil. To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Apply silicone dielectric compound to the inside of the spark plug wire boots prior to installation.
| CAUTION | Do not pull on the spark plug wire as it may separate from the spark plug wire connector inside the spark plug wire boot. |
Note. Wipe the spark plug wire sets with a clean, damp cloth before inspecting them. Without removing the spark plug wire sets from the spark plugs or ignition coils, inspect them for visible damage such as cuts, pinches, or cracked or torn boots.

- Remove the spark plug wire by slightly twisting while pulling upwards.
- Remove the spark plug wire by slightly twisting while pulling upwards.
- Disconnect the spark plug wire if routed through another spark plug wire.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Apply silicone dielectric compound to the locations shown.
- Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug. For additional information, refer to «Spark Plug Wires»(ref-268785-S39201342982007102600000) .
- Remove the spark plug. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
- Inspect the spark plugs. For additional information, refer to «ENGINE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-268738) .
- Check and adjust the spark plug gap as necessary.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
