LH side

Scheme 7

1. Disconnect the PCV tube-to-valve cover fitting quick connect coupling and position aside. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article. RH side
2. For ignition coil-on-plugs on cylinders 3 and 4, disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
3. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube-to-valve cover fitting quick connect coupling and position aside. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article. Both sides
4. Remove the ignition coil-on-plug cover.
5. Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connector.
6. Remove the bolt and the ignition coil-on-plug. To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
7. Inspect the coil seals for rips, nicks or tears. Remove and discard any damaged coil seals. To install, slide the new coil seal onto the coil until it is fully seated at the top of the coil.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the inside of the ignition coil-on-plug boots before attaching to the spark plugs.

1. Remove the ignition coil-on-plug. For additional information, refer to «IGNITION COIL-ON-PLUG»(ref-439825-S07597461992011120900000) in this service information.
2. Remove the spark plug. To install, tighten to 14 Nm (124 lb-in).
3. Inspect the spark plug. For additional information, refer to «ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439783) article.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Adjust the spark plug gap as necessary.
