Steering Wheel and Column Switches Overview
The steering wheel and column switches are located on or around the steering wheel or column, giving the driver the ability to control various vehicle functions and remain focused on the task of driving. Depending on vehicle options, the steering wheel and column switches consist of the following
- Left multifunction switch - mounted on the left side of the steering column attached to the SASM and can be serviced separately.
- Right multifunction switch - mounted on the right side of the steering column attached to the SASM and can be serviced separately.
- Steering wheel switches - mounted on the front of the steering wheel and can be serviced separately.
Conventional Ignition Switch System Overview
The conventional ignition switch is controlled by the ignition lock cylinder and key. The ignition lock cylinder and ignition switch are connected mechanically, turning the lock cylinder places the switch into the desired position. The available ignition switch positions are
- OFF
- ACC
- ON
- START
The push button start ignition system is used to place the ignition in the ON or OFF mode and to start or shut off the vehicle powertrain.

When this DTC sets, the control side of the ignition relay is disabled via the Field-Effect Transistor (FET). Once the condition that caused the DTC to set is repaired, the ignition must be switched off and then back on for the system to resume normal operation. |
| B10FF:14 | Ignition Control: Circuit Short To Ground or Open | Sets when the BCM detects no voltage from the ignition relay control circuit. When this DTC sets, the control side of the ignition relay is disabled via the Field-Effect Transistor (FET).
