Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding

MATERIAL

Draining

1. Release the cooling system pressure by slowly turning the pressure relief cap a quarter of a turn.
2. Remove the pressure relief cap when all the pressure has been released.
3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING AND LIFTING»(ref-357126) article.
4. Remove the lower radiator air deflector. For additional information, refer to «FRONT END BODY PANELS»(ref-357183) article.
5. Place a suitable container below the radiator drain valve. Open the radiator drain valve and allow the coolant to drain. Close the radiator drain valve.
6. Install the lower radiator air deflector. For additional information, refer to «FRONT END BODY PANELS»(ref-357183) article.

Cooling System Flushing

MATERIAL

1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to «Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding»(ref-357157-S33631403912010030800000) .
2. Remove the thermostat. For additional information, refer to «Thermostat Housing»(ref-357157-S29578744502010030800000) .
3. Install the water hose connection without the thermostat.
4. Use cooling system Pro Flush and Fill, Flush Kit and Drain Kit to flush the engine and radiator.
5. Install the thermostat. For additional information, refer to «Thermostat Housing»(ref-357157-S29578744502010030800000) .
6. Fill the cooling system. For additional information, refer to «Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding»(ref-357157-S33631403912010030800000) .
