Sunroof: Removal & Installation Ford Focus II

Removal

1. Remove the headliner. For additional information, refer to «INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(ref-255442) .
2. Disconnect the 2 front and the 2 rear drain hoses from the roof opening panel.
3. Disconnect the roof opening panel motor electrical connector.
4. Remove the 12 bolts and the roof opening panel. With the aid of an assistant, compress the legs of the roof opening panel retaining clip and lower the roof opening panel.

Scheme 2

1. Compress the legs of the roof opening panel retaining clip and install the roof opening panel. Loosely install the 12 bolts.
2. Tighten the 12 roof opening panel frame bolts in the sequence shown. Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
3. Connect the roof opening panel motor electrical connector.
4. Connect the 2 front and the 2 rear drain hoses to the roof opening panel.
5. Install the headliner. For additional information, refer to «INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(ref-255442) .

1. Move the roof opening panel shield rearward.
2. Remove the 4 roof opening panel glass screws.
3. Remove the roof opening panel glass.

Installation

1. Position the roof opening panel glass and loosely install the 4 screws.
2. Align the roof opening panel glass. For additional information, refer to «ROOF OPENING PANEL ALIGNMENT»(ref-255451-S10974128752007053100000) in this article.
3. Move the roof opening panel shield forward.

Scheme 3

1. Remove the roof opening panel glass. Refer to «ROOF OPENING PANEL GLASS»(ref-255451-S21871033272007053100000) in this article.
2. Remove the roof opening panel glass weatherstrip.

Scheme 4

1. Place a new weatherstrip into position on the glass assembly, with the splice (seam) on the passenger side.
2. Starting with the corners, push the weatherstrip into position. Continue pushing the weatherstrip into position around the glass assembly until complete. Use a plastic hammer if necessary.
3. Install the roof opening panel glass. Refer to «ROOF OPENING PANEL GLASS»(ref-255451-S21871033272007053100000) in this article.

Scheme 5

1. Remove the roof opening panel glass. For additional information, refer to «ROOF OPENING PANEL GLASS»(ref-255451-S21871033272007053100000) in this article.
2. With glass removed, place roof opening panel into the CLOSED position.
3. With roof opening panel shield in full forward position, remove the 4 Torx® screws. Remove the 2 front screws first to allow shield to slide further forward in track to expose 2 rear screws.
4. Lift the roof opening panel shield upward through roof opening.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Scheme 6

1. Remove the overhead console trim panel from the overhead console. Using a suitable tool, release the 2 front retaining clips. Pull the overhead console trim panel downward to release the 2 side retaining clips. Push the overhead console trim panel forward to release the rear retaining clip.
2. Remove the overhead console trim panel. Disconnect the roof opening panel control switch electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the roof opening panel motor electrical connector.
4. Remove the 3 bolts and the roof opening panel motor.

1. If installing a previously used roof opening panel motor, carry out the Erasing Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization procedure. For additional information, refer to «ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION»(ref-255451-S34971186272007053100000) in this article.
2. Install the roof opening panel motor and the 3 bolts. Tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
3. If installing a new roof opening panel motor, connect the electrical connector.
4. Install the overhead console trim panel. If installing a new roof opening panel motor, connect the roof opening panel control switch electrical connector.
5. Initialize the roof opening panel motor. For additional information, refer to «ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION»(ref-255451-S34971186272007053100000) in this article.

1. Remove the headliner. For additional information, refer to «INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(ref-255442) .
2. Disconnect the front drain hose from the roof opening panel.
3. Disconnect the LH A-pillar lower trim panel. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers.
4. Disconnect the auxiliary junction box electrical connector. Remove the bolt.
5. Position the auxiliary junction box aside. Release the clip. Disconnect the auxiliary junction box from the LH lower A-pillar.
6. Disconnect the RH A-pillar lower trim panel. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers.
7. Position the auxiliary junction box aside. Disconnect the electrical connector. Release the clip. Disconnect the junction box from the RH lower A-pillar.
8. Attach a suitable length of draw cord to the roof opening panel end of the drain hose and secure the free end of the cord to the vehicle.
9. Remove the front drain hose. Release the drain hose clip. Pull the drain hose down through the A-pillar.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Attach the draw cord to the roof opening panel end of the new drain hose and pull the drain hose through the A-pillar.

1. Remove the headliner. For additional information, refer to «INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(ref-255442) .
2. Remove the load space floor covering.
3. Remove the scuff plate from the liftgate opening panel. Remove the 6 pin-type retainers.
4. Remove the C-pillar lower trim panel. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers.
5. Remove the load space trim panel from the rear quarter trim panel. Remove the pin-type retainer.
6. Remove the load space trim panel.
7. Disconnect the rear drain hose from the roof opening panel.
8. Remove the rear drain hose. Release the 3 drain hose clips.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Scheme 17

1. Remove the headliner. For additional information, refer to «INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(ref-255442) .
2. Remove the C-pillar lower trim panel from the load space trim panel. Remove the pin-type retainer.
3. Remove the rear drain hose. Release the 3 drain hose clips.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
