Multifunction Electronic Module: Overview Ford Focus II

Principles of Operation

Note. Upon installation of a new generic electronic module (GEM), the module must be reconfigured. Refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION prior to GEM removal.

The GEM is the only multifunction module on this vehicle.

Normal Operation

The central junction box (CJB) provides voltage to the GEM through circuits 29-AA17 (OG/WH) and 29-DK20 (OG/GN).

The central junction box (CJB) provides voltage to the GEM through circuits 29-AA17 (OG/WH) and 29-DK20 (OG/GN).

The GEM is grounded through circuits 31-DK20 (BK) and 91-DK20 (BK/RD).

The GEM connects to the data link connector (DLC) through the international standards organization (ISO) 9141 communications network, circuit 8-EE9 (WH/GN). For additional information on the communications network, refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
