  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-207791) .
  2. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector. Remove the bolt retaining the CMP sensor. Remove the CMP sensor.
  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to «JACKING AND LIFTING»(ref-234418) .
  2. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the CKP sensor.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-207791) .
  2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING AND LIFTING»(ref-234418) .
  3. Remove the two retaining screws and the crankshaft pulley shield.
  4. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the plug.
  6. Turn the crankshaft pulley bolt to position the number one cylinder at top dead center, and install the special tool.
  7. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolts and the sensor.
  8. Install an 6 mm x 18 mm standard bolt.

  1. Install the CKP sensor, but do not tighten the bolts at this time.
  2. Adjust the CKP sensor alignment jig and tighten the bolts.
  3. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the 6 mm bolt.
  5. Remove the crankshaft timing peg.
  6. Install the plug.
  7. Install the crankshaft pulley shield.

  1. Disconnect the power steering pressure (PSP) switch electrical connector.
  2. Remove the PSP switch.
  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-207791) .
  2. Remove the instrument panel side trim.
  3. Remove the cowl side trim panel.
  4. Remove the glove box.
  5. Remove the passenger side lower footwell trim panel.
  6. Remove the generic electronic module (GEM). Remove the two retaining nuts. Remove the GEM module and the bracket and position aside.
  7. Disconnect the powertrain control (PCM) module electrical connectors and remove the PCM.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
  2. Disconnect idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector.
  3. Remove the IAC valve upper bolt.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to «JACKING AND LIFTING»(ref-234418) .
  5. Remove the IAC valve.

  2. Remove throttle body snow shield. Remove the retaining screw. Release the emission tube. Remove the snow shield.
  3. Remove the idle air control (IAC) valve. Disconnect the IAC electrical connector. Remove the two IAC retaining screws. Remove the IAC valve.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  2. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the MAF sensor.
