  1. Remove the driver air bag module. For additional information, Refer to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-372796) .
  2. NOTE: Steering wheel shown in illustration turned clockwise to remove the LH paddle shifter. When removing the RH paddle shifter, turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction. Turn the steering wheel far enough to access the inner paddle shifter screw. Turn the steering wheel clockwise if removing the LH paddle shifter. Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise if removing the RH paddle shifter.
  3. Using a suitable tool, gently pry the bottom of the paddle shifter cover up and remove the paddle shifter cover.
  4. Remove the 2 paddle shifter screws.
  5. Push up on the inside of the back steering wheel trim cover to release the retaining tab from the front steering wheel bezel. Position aside the back steering wheel trim cover and remove the paddle shifter from the steering wheel.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the paddle shifter.

  1. Connect the paddle shifter electrical connector.
  2. Install the paddle shifter on the steering wheel and position the corner of the back steering wheel trim cover back in place.
  3. Install the 2 paddle shifter screws.
  4. Install the paddle shifter cover.
  5. Install the driver air bag module. For additional information, Refer to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-372796) .

  1. Remove the selector lever trim ring.
  2. Lift upward and open the storage compartment lid.
  3. Lift upward on the rear of the upper console finish panel and remove the upper console finish panel.
  4. Pull the floor console trim panel outward to release the retaining clips.
  5. Push the front of the floor console trim panel downward to detach the trim panel from the pin-type retainer.
  6. NOTE: Damage may occur to the center console if cardboard is not used to remove the floor console trim panel. Position a piece of cardboard between the LH floor console trim panel and the center console.
  7. Remove the LH floor console trim panel and cardboard simultaneously.
  8. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the selector lever.
  9. Remove the selector cable from the selector lever cable bracket.
  10. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  11. Cut floor console bridge where indicated in the illustration. Remove and discard the piece of floor console.
  12. NOTE: Selector lever removed for clarity. Remove the 4 selector lever bolts and remove the selector lever from the vehicle.

  1. Install the selector lever and the 4 selector lever bolts. Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the selector lever cable on the selector lever bracket. Make sure the 2 clips are securely in place on the selector lever bracket.
  4. Connect the selector lever cable end to the selector lever.
  5. NOTE: Damage may occur to the center console if cardboard is not used to install the floor console trim panel. Insert the floor console trim panel and cardboard simultaneously between the seat and center console.
  6. Push the front of the floor console trim panels upward to attach the trim panel from the pin-type retainer.
  7. Push the floor console trim panel inward to attach the retaining clips.
  8. Install the floor console finish panel.
  9. Install the selector lever trim ring.
  10. Check the selector lever cable adjustment. Make sure that the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL and the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE. If an adjustment is necessary, refer to «SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-372801-S17179362682010093000000) .

  1. Remove the selector lever trim ring.
  2. Lift the armrest and remove the center console cup holder panel.
  3. Slide the lower selector lever knob bezel downward.
  4. Remove the 2 screws from the selector lever knob.
  5. Remove the selector lever knob.
  6. NOTE: Selector lever removed for clarity. Release the 4 tabs and position the selector lever trim ring aside to gain access to the Transmission Control Switch (TCS) electrical connector.
  7. Disconnect the TCS electrical connector, route the wiring harness out of the selector lever bezel and remove the selector lever knob and knob bezel.
