Antenna System Ford Five Hundred I

The antenna system consists of

  1. antenna mast
  2. antenna base and cable
  3. antenna lead-in cable

The antenna uses a 2-piece coaxial cable to connect the audio unit to the antenna base. The front antenna lead-in cable is connected to the audio unit and has an in-line connector at the RH cowl side.

Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(/ford/five-hundred/i-2004-2007/remont/hoistjack/#jacking-lifting) .
  2. Remove the antenna mast.
  3. Remove the antenna boot.
  4. Remove the antenna base bolt.
  5. Remove the RH front fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to «FRONT END BODY PANELS»(/ford/five-hundred/i-2004-2007/remont/exterior-body-panels/#body-panel-system-front-end-body-panels) .
  6. Disconnect the antenna cable connection.
  7. Remove the antenna base.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  2. Remove the RH front fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to «FRONT END BODY PANELS»(/ford/five-hundred/i-2004-2007/remont/exterior-body-panels/#body-panel-system-front-end-body-panels) .
  3. Disconnect the antenna cable from the antenna base. Push the grommet through the cowl panel.
  4. Remove the A-pillar lower trim panel.
  5. Disconnect the antenna cable connection and remove the antenna cable.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  2. Remove the A-pillar lower trim panel.
  3. Lower the glove compartment door.
  4. Disconnect the pin-type retainers for the lead-in cable.
  5. Disconnect the antenna cable connection and remove the antenna lead-in cable.
  6. To install, reverse the removal.
