Master Cylinder Bleeding
- Connect one end of a clear, flexible hose to the master cylinder bleeder screw. Submerge the other end in a container partially filled with the specified brake fluid.
- Have an assistant pump and then hold firm pressure on the brake pedal.
- Open the master cylinder bleeder screw until brake fluid flows into the container.
- When the fluid stops flowing, close the bleeder screw.
- Repeat Steps 2-4 until there are no air bubbles in the brake fluid.
- Have an assistant pump and then hold firm pressure on the brake pedal.
- Loosen a master cylinder tube fitting at the anti-lock brake hydraulic control unit.
- When fluid stops flowing from the fitting, tighten the fitting.
- Repeat Steps 6-8 until there are no air bubbles in the brake fluid.
- Repeat Steps 6-9 on the remaining master cylinder tube fitting.
