DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

WARNINGVehicle is equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. When servicing vehicle, use care to avoid accidental air bag deployment. SIR system-related components are located in various locations throughout interior and exterior of vehicle, depending on application. Do not use electrical test equipment on or near these circuits. If necessary, deactivate SIR system before servicing components. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS.

Heater system is a blend-air type, consisting of a control panel, blower motor and plenum assembly. Function selector switch is a vacuum and electrical switch which controls air distribution. Temperature control switch uses a cable to control air temperature door position. Blower motor is located in plenum assembly, under instrument panel. Plenum assembly contains heater core, floor/defrost door, panel/defrost door and cable operated temperature blend door. See VACUUM DIAGRAMS .

TEST F: NO OPERATION IN ALL TEMPERATURE SETTINGS
