Disassembly

Note. If a seat equipped with a seat mounted side air bag and/or a safety belt pretensioner (if equipped) system is being serviced, the supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be depowered.

Note. The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the RCM fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.

Note. The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

1. Position the seat to gain access to all seat fasteners.
2. Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-170321) .
3. Remove the driver seat. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-210207-S00925119402005121400000) .
4. Remove the armrest. Pull back the Velcro® fastened armrest cover to expose the bolt. Remove the bolt and the crown washer. Remove the armrest.
5. Pull the front seat back pad adjustment knob from the right side of the seat.
6. Remove the bolt below the front seat back pad adjustment knob.
7. Remove the screw from the underside of the seat.
8. Remove the front seat back pivot side inner cover screw from the front of the seat.
9. Remove the front seat back pivot side inner cover (61693) from the seat assembly. Pull the front seat back pivot side inner cover inboard to clear the belt and buckle assembly pretensioner. Rotate the front seat back pivot side inner cover upward to release the rear pushpin mount from the key slot. Hold the front seat back pivot side inner cover in one hand and release the retaining clips holding the belt and buckle assembly pretensioner boot to the front seat back pivot side inner cover. Remove the front seat back pivot side inner cover.
10. Remove the rear pushpin retainer from the upper seat track mounting flange.
11. Remove the belt and buckle assembly pretensioner. For additional information, refer to «SAFETY BELT SYSTEM»(ref-210213) .
12. Remove the bolt from behind the seat back latch handle.
13. Remove the front seat back latch lower cover bolt from the front of the seat.
14. Remove the front seat back latch lower cover bolt from the underside of the seat.
15. Disconnect the power seat control switch connector.
16. Remove the front seat back latch lower cover (62768). Pull the front seat back latch lower cover away from the seat. Pull the power seat control switch connector through the front seat cushion. Remove the screws. Remove the seat control switch from the front seat back latch lower cover and remove the front seat back latch lower cover.
17. Remove the front seat back pad adjuster. Remove the screws from the seat. Disconnect the front seat back pad adjustment cable from the front seat back pad adjuster and remove the front seat back pad adjuster.
18. Remove the bolts from the front seat back latch.
19. Remove the front seat back. Remove the bolt. Pull the front seat back pad adjustment cable through the bottom of the seat back. Lift the front seat back from the seat cushion.
20. Remove the front seat back cover. Unfasten the J-clip at the bottom of the front seat back. Lift the front seat back cover up over the seat back, disengaging the Velcro® fasteners (not shown), and remove the front seat back cover.
21. Remove the front seat back pad from the front seat back frame (61019).
22. Cut the wire ties fastening the front seat back pad adjuster cable to the front seat back frame.
23. Rotate the plastic washers 60 degrees until the slit is facing the edge of the front seat back pad adjuster grid. Rotate both the top and the bottom washers.
24. Remove the front seat back pad adjuster grid from the front seat back frame.
25. Remove the front seat back latch from the front seat back frame. Remove the bolts from the front seat back latch. Remove the front seat back latch.
26. Remove the nuts retaining the seat support to the right seat track.
27. Remove the bolts retaining the seat support to the left seat track.
28. Gently pull the power seat connectors from the seat support.
29. Remove the seat support from the seat tracks.
30. Remove the bolts retaining the seat tracks to the seat cushion.
31. Remove the two front seat track nuts retaining the seat tracks to the seat cushion.
32. Disconnect the power seat motor connector.
33. Remove the seat tracks from the seat cushion.
34. Remove the power seat wiring assembly from the seat cushion.
35. Remove the front seat cushion cover (62900). Unfasten the J-clips on all four sides of the front seat cushion cover. Remove the seat cushion from the front seat cushion frame. Remove the front seat cushion cover from the seat cushion, disengaging the Velcro® fastener (not shown).

Note. If only installing the seat backpad adjuster, proceed to Step 12 .

1. Install the front seat cushion cover. Install the front seat cushion cover to the seat cushion, engaging the Velcro® fasteners (not shown). Install the seat cushion to the front seat cushion frame. Fasten the J-clips on all four sides of the front seat cushion cover.
2. Install the power seat wiring assembly to the seat cushion.
3. Install the seat tracks to the seat cushion.
4. Connect the power seat motor electrical connector.
5. Install the two front seat track nuts retaining the seat tracks to the seat cushion.
6. Install the bolts retaining the seat tracks to the seat cushion.
7. Install the seat support to the seat tracks.
8. Install the power seat connectors to the seat support.
9. Install the bolts retaining the seat support to the left seat track.
10. Install the nuts retaining the seat support to the seat track.
11. Install the front seat back latch to the front seat back frame.
12. Install the front seat back adjuster grid to the front seat back frame.
13. Rotate the plastic washers 60 degrees so that the slit is facing away from the edge of the front seat back pad adjuster grid. Rotate both the top and bottom washers.
14. Install wire ties fastening the front seat back pad adjuster cable to the front seat back frame.
15. Install the seat back foam pad to the frame.
16. Install the front seat back cover. Pull the front seat back cover over the seat back, engaging the Velcro® fasteners (not shown), and install the front seat back cover. Fasten the J-clip at the bottom of the front seat back.
17. Align the front seat back to the seat cushion and install the bolt.
18. Install the bolts to the front seat back latch.
19. Install the front seat back pad adjuster. Install the front seat back pad adjuster and connect the front seat back pad adjustment cable to the front seat back pad adjuster. Install the screws to the seat.
20. Install the front seat back latch lower cover. Install the seat control switch to the front seat back latch lower cover. Install the screws. Route the seat control switch electrical connector through the seat cushion. Position the front seat back latch cover to the seat.
21. Connect the seat control switch electrical connector.
22. Install the front seat back latch lower cover bolt to the underside of the seat.
23. Install the front seat back latch lower cover bolt to the front of the seat.
24. Install the bolt behind the seat back latch handle.
25. Install the belt and buckle assembly pretensioner. For additional information, refer to «SAFETY BELT SYSTEM»(ref-210213) .
26. Install the rear pin-type retainer to the upper seat track mounting flange.
27. Install the front seat back pivot side inner cover to the seat assembly. Install the front seat back pivot side inner cover. Hold the front seat back pivot side inner cover in one hand and secure with the retaining clips to hold the belt and buckle assembly pretensioner boot to the front seat back pivot side inner cover. Rotate the front seat back pivot side inner cover downward to secure the rear pin-type retainer mount to the key slot. Pull the front seat back pivot side inner cover inboard to clear the belt and buckle assembly pretensioner.
28. Install the front seat back pivot side inner cover screw to the front of the seat.
29. Install the screw to the underside of the seat.
30. Install the bolt below the front seat back pad adjustment knob.
31. Push the front seat back pad adjustment knob toward the right side of the seat.
32. Install the armrest, new crown washer, and bolt. Position the armrest cover.
33. Install the driver seat. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-210207-S00925119402005121400000) .
34. Repower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-170321) .
35. Check the restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to «SAFETY BELT SYSTEM»(ref-210213) .

Note. If a seat equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS) component is being serviced, the SRS must be depowered.

1. Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-170321) .
2. Remove the affected seat. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-210207-S00925119402005121400000) .
3. Remove the armrest. Pull back the armrest cover hook-and-loop strip to expose the bolt. Remove the bolt and crown washer. Remove the armrest.
4. Pull and remove the lumbar adjustment knob.
5. Remove the outboard side shield screw and the seat back recliner lever screw and cover.
6. Remove the screw underneath the seat.
7. Disengage the outboard side shield from the seat track.
8. Remove the outboard side shield.
9. Remove the inboard side shield screws from underneath the seat.
10. Rotate the inboard side shield upward to disengage the front and center upper hooks. Pull the inboard side shield away to clear the safety belt buckle pretensioner assembly.
11. Remove the inboard side shield. Rotate the inboard side shield upward to release the rear pin-type retainer. Install a new pin-type retainer if damaged during removal. Hold the inboard side shield in one hand and release the retaining clips holding the safety belt buckle pretensioner boot to the inboard side shield. Remove the inboard side shield.
12. Release the hook-and-loop strip on the inboard cushion flap.
13. Release the J-clip.
14. Release the push pin and position aside the inboard seat cushion flap.
15. Remove the lumbar control adjuster. Remove the 2 screws. Disconnect the adjuster cable and remove the lumbar adjuster.
16. Remove the front seat back bolt.
17. Remove the 2 bolts from the front seat back recliner, route the adjuster cable through the bottom of the seat and remove the front seat back cushion.
18. Remove the front seat back cover. Unfasten the J-clip at the bottom of the front seat back. Invert the cushion trim cover and release the hook-and-loop strips (not shown), and remove the seat cushion trim cover from the foam pad.
19. Remove the front seat back foam pad from the front seat back frame.
20. Cut the wire ties fastening the lumber cable to the front seat frame.
21. Rotate the plastic washers 60 degrees until the slit is facing the edge of the front seat lumbar adjuster grid. Rotate both the top and bottom washers.
22. Remove the lumbar adjuster grid from the front seat back frame.
23. Remove the front seat back latch from the front seat back frame. Remove the 2 bolts from the front seat back latch. Remove the front seat back latch.
24. If equipped, gently pull the seat belt buckle switch connector from the seat support.
25. Remove the 4 nuts retaining the seat riser to the seat track.
26. Remove the seat riser from the seat tracks.
27. Remove the safety belt buckle pretensioner bolt and separate the safety belt buckle pretensioner from the seat track.
28. Remove the 4 bolts retaining the seat tracks to the seat cushion.
29. Remove the seat tracks from the seat cushion.
30. Detach the safety belt wiring harness from the seat cushion pan and remove the safety belt buckle pretensioner assembly.
31. Remove the front seat cushion trim cover. Unfasten the J-clips on all 4 sides of the front seat cushion trim cover. Remove the seat cushion from the front seat cushion frame. Remove the front seat cushion cover from the foam pad, disengaging the hook-and-loop strips (not shown).

1. Remove the rear quad bucket seat from the vehicle. For additional information, refer to «SEAT - REAR, QUAD BUCKET»(ref-210207-S24359383812005121400000) .
2. Remove the lower anchors and tethers for children (LATCH). Unlatch the J-clips on the LATCH cover. Remove the LATCH bolts. Remove the LATCH.
3. Remove the armrest. Pull back the Velcro® fastened armrest cover to expose the armrest bolt. Remove the bolt and the crown washer. Remove the armrest.
4. Remove the safety belt buckle end assembly. Use the Safety Belt Bolt Torx Bit to remove the buckle end bolt. Remove the safety belt buckle end.
5. Remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end. Use the Safety Belt Bolt Torx Bit to remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end bolt. Remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end.
6. Remove the right-hand seat side trim. Remove the screws (one located behind the seat back latch). Remove the right-hand seat side trim.
7. Remove the left-hand seat side trim. Remove the screws. Remove the left-hand seat side trim.
8. Remove the bolts.
9. Remove the bolt.
10. Remove the seat back.
11. Remove the seat back cover. Unlatch the C-clip at the bottom of the seat back. Slide the cover upward over the seat back, disengaging the Velcro® fasteners (not shown), and remove the seat back cover.
12. Access and detach the J-clips from the seat backrest frame from beneath the seat backrest cover.
13. Remove the seat back cushion.
14. Remove the bolt and the seat back latch.
15. Remove the four nuts (two shown) and the seat support.
16. Remove the seat track bolts and remove the seat track assembly.
17. On the LH side seat only, remove the two bolts from both spacer brackets and remove both spacer bracket assemblies.
18. Remove the seat cushion cover. Unlatch the J-clips on all four sides of the seat cushion cover. Remove the seat cushion frame from the seat cushion. Remove the seat cushion cover from the seat cushion, disengaging the Velcro® fasteners (not shown).
19. Remove the seat cushion from the seat frame.
20. Remove the bolts and the cushion support from the seat cushion frame.
21. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

1. Remove the rear bench seat assembly. For additional information, refer to «REAR SEAT - THREE- OR FOUR-PASSENGER QUICK RELEASE BENCH»(ref-210207-S08417556652005121400000) .
2. Remove the armrest (if so equipped). Peel back the Velcro®-fastened armrest cover to expose the armrest bolt. Remove the bolt and crown washer. Remove the armrest.
3. Remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end, if so equipped. Use the Safety Belt Bolt Torx Bit to remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end bolt. Remove the detachable safety belt anchor buckle end.
4. Remove the safety belt assembly from the left and right stanchions. Use the Safety Belt Bolt Torx Bit to remove the safety belt anchor bolt from the stanchion. Remove the safety belt assembly.
5. Remove the left and right stanchions from the seat. Remove the upper and lower bolts. Remove the stanchions from the seat.
6. Use the Safety Belt Bolt Torx Bit to remove the center safety belt bolt and washer from the rear seat cushion frame (63160) and remove the center safety belt (four-passenger bench seat only).
7. Remove the rear seat cushion cover (63804) from the seat back bracket. Remove the plastic seat cushion cover fastener. Peel back the rear seat cushion cover to expose the seat back bolts on the seat back bracket.
8. Remove the bolts from the rear seat cushion frame and remove the seat back.
9. Remove the seat cushion cover clips from the rear seat cushion frame.
10. Remove the rear seat cushion frame from the rear seat cushion pad (63840).
11. Remove the rear Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) bolts.
12. Remove the front LATCH bolts and the LATCH attachment.
13. Remove the rear seat cushion cover. Pull the safety belt ends up through the rear seat cushion cover and the rear seat cushion pad. Peel the rear seat cushion cover from the rear seat cushion pad.
14. Remove the rear seat back cover (66600). Unclip the J-clip at the bottom of the rear seat back cover. Peel the rear seat back cover from the seat back.
15. Lift the rear seat back pad (66800) from the rear seat back frame (613A38).
16. Remove the armrest bracket bolts and remove the armrest bracket from the rear seat back frame.
17. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
