TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Bumpers

The bumper system consists of the following components

1. front bumper cover
2. front bumper isolator
3. front bumper
4. front bumper bracket
5. rear bumper cover
6. rear bumper
7. rear bumper bracket

1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(/ford/crown-victoria/ii-1997-2011/remont/hoistjack/#jacking-lifting) .
2. Remove the 6 lower radiator air deflector bolts, the 2 front bumper cover bolts, and the 4 pin-type retainers.
3. Remove the 6 pin-type retainers (3 each side).
4. Disconnect the 2 fog lamp electrical connectors.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the side turn signal lamp assemblies. For additional information, refer to «SIDE TURN SIGNAL LAMP»(/ford/crown-victoria/ii-1997-2011/remont/exterior-lights/#exterior-lighting-system) .
7. Remove the 2 front bumper cover screws (one each side).
8. Remove the 2 front bumper cover screws (one each side, under the front bumper).
9. Release the 4 tabs and remove the front bumper cover.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Transfer any components as necessary.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(/ford/crown-victoria/ii-1997-2011/remont/hoistjack/#jacking-lifting) .
2. Remove the rear bumper cover screws.
3. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers and the 2 screws (1 each side).
4. Remove the 6 pin-type retainers (3 each side).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the pin-type retainers and the luggage compartment rear trim panel.
7. Position the luggage compartment lining material aside.
8. Remove the 4 rear bumper cover nuts (2 each side).
9. Remove the 6 nuts (3 each side) and the rear bumper cover.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to «FRONT BUMPER COVER»(/ford/crown-victoria/ii-1997-2011/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumper-system) .
2. Remove the 5 rivets and the front bumper isolator.
3. Remove the 2 rivets and the RH and LH outer isolators.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Use the special tool to install the new rivets.

2. Remove the 8 bolts (4 each side) and the front bumper.
3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to «REAR BUMPER COVER»(/ford/crown-victoria/ii-1997-2011/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumper-system) .
2. Remove the 4 rear bumper nuts (2 each side).
3. Remove the rear bumper.
4. If necessary, remove the rear bumper cover brackets and rivets.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Use the special tool to install the new rivets.

Removal and Installation

1. Remove the front bumper. For additional information, refer to «FRONT BUMPER»(/ford/crown-victoria/ii-1997-2011/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumper-system) .
2. Remove the nuts and the front bumper bracket.
3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the rear bumper. For additional information, refer to «REAR BUMPER»(/ford/crown-victoria/ii-1997-2011/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumper-system) .
2. Remove the bolt and the rear bumper bracket.
3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
