Antenna - Power: Removal & Installation Eagle Vision I

Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. At right rear, inside trunk, pull trunk liner aside. Unplug antenna lead from pigtail connector. Remove drain tube from grommet.
  2. Remove screws attaching ground strap and antenna brace. Pull antenna body down through rubber grommet. For installation, reverse removal procedure. Ensure grommet locating tab is in line with slot in body before installing antenna. Tighten cap nut to 13 INCH lbs. (1.5 N.m). (Scheme 1) Tighten antenna brace and ground strap screws to 35 INCH lbs. (4 N.m). (Scheme 2)

Removal

Using Antenna Nut Wrench (C-4816), remove cap nut. Install temporary nut furnished with replacement mast. Turn ignition key to ACCESSORY position and turn on radio. While mast is moving up, pull upward to remove mast and drive rod from mast tube.

Installation

  1. Insert new drive rod into mast tube with drive teeth toward antenna motor. (Scheme 3) Turn radio off and guide mast into tube. Mast may not be fully lowered when first installed.
  2. Using antenna nut wrench, replace temporary nut with the original cap nut and tighten to 13 INCH lbs. (1.5 N.m). Turn radio on and off to extend and retract antenna. Mast should be fully lowered after recycling.
