Scheme 1: SERVICE INDICATOR & WARNING LIGHTS

AIR BAG SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT (1990-92)

The light will come on momentarily during start up as a bulb check. If if remains lit or comes on while driving, system should be checked.

CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT

This light will come on briefly during starting as a bulb check. If it remains on or comes on while driving, it indicates a potential engine control problem and the system should be serviced. Prolonged driving without having the system checked may affect fuel economy, driveability and possible damage to the emission system.

OIL PRESSURE LIGHT

Light indicates low engine oil pressure, but does not indicate the amount of oil in the engine. This light should come on when ignition is turned on, as a bulb check, but should go out when engine is started. Light may flicker or come on when engine is hot and idling slow.

BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT

Vehicle is equipped with dual braking system that provides backup braking capability should a failure occurs in either half of the dual system. Warning light will come on and remain on if there is failure to either half of the dual braking system. The light is designed to come on briefly when the ignition key is turned to START position as a safety check.
