REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| WARNING | Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy. |
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |

Scheme 26: Removal & Installation
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine cover from passenger compartment. Remove left underdash cover and knee bolster reinforcement. Remove 3 CTM screws from left center instrument panel support. (Scheme 26)
- Slide CTM away from left center instrument panel support enough to access connectors. Disconnect connectors and remove CTM. To install, reverse removal procedure. Program replacement CTM. See appropriate BODY CONTROL COMPUTER TESTS article.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine cover from passenger compartment. Remove 2 power lock/RKE module screws from left center instrument panel support. (Scheme 26)
- Slide power lock/RKE module away from left center instrument panel support enough to access connectors. Disconnect connectors and remove power lock/RKE module. To install, reverse removal procedure. Program replacement power lock/RKE module. See appropriate BODY CONTROL COMPUTER TESTS article.
