- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove rear propeller shaft. (Refer to «PROPELLER SHAFT»(ref-189646) )
- Use a suitable chisel or pry tool to remove the rear extension housing dust boot (Scheme 119)
- Use a suitable chisel or pry tool to remove the rear extension housing seal.
Scheme 120
- Clean fluid residue from sealing surface and inspect for defects.
- Install the extension housing dust boot and seal assembly with Installer 9037 and Handle C-4171 (Scheme 120)
- Install propeller shaft. (Refer to «PROPELLER SHAFT»(ref-189646) )
- Verify proper transfer case fluid level.
- Lower vehicle.
