- The following steps must be performed on each side of the vehicle. Driver side shown in illustration, passenger side similar. Move the front seat to the full forward position to obtain room for LED light strip installation. Position LED light strip (2) and center on the flat side of the metal bar of the seat structure. Determine centered position before removing adhesive backing in the next step. Remove double sided tape backing from the back of the light strip and place on metal bar in position determined in the previous step. Install light strip (2) to the flat side of the metal bar of the seat structure. The position of the seat may need to be moved to access the flat side of the bar. The connector end of the light strip must be placed toward the center console. Press along the length of the light strip to ensure that the double sided tape adheres to the seat bar. Place two tie straps (1) over the light strip and the bar; avoid covering the LEDs. Place a tie strap (4) over the molding (3) on the end of the light strip and secure to the seat bar. It is important to place the tie strap over the molding and not just over the light strip to prevent the LED connector from moving, which could cause future damage. Route the LED light strip cable (5) under the seat.
- The following steps must be performed on each side of the vehicle. Driver side shown in illustration, passenger side similar. Move front seat rearward to provide access to route ambient light cable to the center console. Route cable (2) under front seat and place three tie straps along the length of the seat. Route cable under carpeting (3) and into center console opening. Move the seat through the full range of motion to ensure that the cable does not bind or rub on any component under the seat. FRONT LED LIGHT STRIP INSTALLATION (DRIVER SIDE ABOVE FOOTWELL)
- Remove pins (2) and remove silencer panel (1). Place the silencer panel on a flat bench. CAUTION: Safety glasses should be worn whenever drilling is required.
- Place the LED light strip (2) in the position shown in illustration. Mark locations where a tie straps will be used to secure the light strip.
- Remove the light strip from the silencer panel and drill eight inch holes where marked in the previous step.
- Remove the double sided tape from the back of the light strip and place back in position shown in illustration. Install tie straps (1) where the holes were made.
- Install the end tie strap over the molding on the end of the light strip. This tie strap must be located correctly over the top of the molding or damage may occur.
- Install the driver side silencer panel (1) and secure with pins (2).
- Route the LED light strip wire from the silencer panel behind the carpet and route into the center console opening. FRONT LED LIGHT STRIP INSTALLATION (PASSENGER SIDE ABOVE FOOTWELL)
- Remove the pins securing the passenger side silencer panel (1).
- Remove the connector from the footwell lamp and remove the silencer panel from the vehicle.
- Place silencer panel on a flat bench and place light strip as shown in illustration.
- At each location a tie strap will be placed (1, 2, and 3), mark the location on each side of the light strip.
- Remove the light strip from the panel.
- Using a drill bit, drill holes at each marked location.
- Position light strip as shown in illustration and install tie straps (2 and 3). Install a tie strap (1) over the molding to ensure that the end of the cable cannot flex.
- Install passenger silencer panel (1) and reconnect footwell lamp connector.
- Route light strip cable (2) behind center console carpet (1).
- If necessary, set the emergency brake and place the gear shift lever into low gear.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Using (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) (1), separate the retaining ring (3) from the knob (2) and slide down the shifter shaft.
- Remove the stamped spring clip (2) from the knob (1) by grabbing the exposed tab with pliers and pulling straight out.
- Pull the knob (2) off of the shift shaft.
- Using (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) release the clip fasteners and separate the console bezel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) and remove the shifter bezel.
- Remove the storage bin mat (3).
- Remove the screws (2).
- Using (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) work around the perimeter of the bezel, and across the middle releasing the retaining clips (1) and separate the bezel from the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) and remove the bezel.
- Remove the left and right side floor console side covers (1). CAUTION: Safety glasses should be worn whenever drilling is required.
- Place the floor console left side cover (2) on a flat bench.
- Place switch template (1) on the side of the console in the position shown in illustration. Make sure that the switch will be level in relation to the console when the cover is installed.
- Tape the template down, mark the cutout section (3) and remove the template.
- Cut out the section and remove any sharp edges from the backside of the console. NOTE: Before securing the switch, make sure that it is parallel to the console side cover (2) in the installed position.
- Clean the surface where the switch will be located on the side cover (2) with the supplied alcohol pad.
- Insert the connector end of the switch through the hole that was previously cut in the console.
- Remove the double sided tape cover from the backside of the switch, making sure to remove the small strip cover below the ribbon cable.
- Place the switch (1) on the side cover so that it covers the hole and press it firmly down on the console.
- Remove the double sided tape from the switch frame (3) and place it over the ambient light switch (1). CONTROL MODULE INSTALLATION
- Route the power cable and connect the power connector (1) to the control module (2).
- Connect the switch harness (5) to the control module (3).
- Connect each of the four light strip connectors (3) to the control module (3). It does not matter which light strip connector goes to which cavity.
- Remove the adhesive backing on one side of the double sided tape and apply to the control module.
- Remove the backing from the remaining side of double sided tape and press the control module (3) down in the location shown in illustration.
- Bundle excess cable (4) and secure with tie straps.

- Connect ambient lighting switch (5) to switch harness connector (4).
- Position the console bezel (2) into place and seat the clip fasteners (1) fully.
- Replace the stamped clip (2) into the knob (1). The tab orients toward the outside of knob, not the centerline. The flat side of the clip (opposite the tab), should be on the inside, toward the shaft.
- Align the ribs on knob (1) with slots in the chrome shroud (2) and seat the shroud fully. Angle on the shroud must match the angle on the knob before snapping in place.
- Place the gear selector lever into the Park position.
- Install the knob (1) onto the shift shaft and seat fully.
- Position the instrument panel center bezel over the instrument panel and connect the electrical connectors (1).
- Press firmly and evenly around the perimeter and across the middle of the bezel to seat the retaining clips (1) and install the center bezel.
