EXPRESS DOWN WINDOW FEATURE

This feature allows you to remotely lower both front door windows at the same time. To use this feature, press and release the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter and then immediately press and hold the UNLOCK button until the windows lower to the desired level or until they lower completely.

SEDAN

Note. The battery must be fully charged or the vehicle running for proper calibration of the front door module.

Note. The following procedure must be performed anytime the power window system has been serviced in either front door or, there is a possible concern with a door module calibration.

Express-up / Express-down possible concerns.

  1. Glass will not lower all the way down flush to the beltline.
  2. Glass will not raise fully; wind noise / water leak.
  3. Glass will not raise automatically (Expess-up) after lifting the switch to the second detent and releasing.

CLEAR/DENORMALIZE

To clear/denormalize the door module memory, perform the following procedure

  1. Check and repair any door module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) (s) before proceeding.
  2. Using a scan tool, under the miscellaneous functions menu select (Denormalize Window/Reset ECU), and follow the directions to clear/denormalize the door module memory.

RELEARN/NORMALIZE

To relearn/normalize the door module memory, perform the following procedure

Note. The battery must be fully charged or the vehicle running before proceeding.

  1. If needed, place the vehicle battery on charge or have the engine running.
  2. To relearn/normalize the door module, start by raising the door glass to the full-up position by pulling up on the window switch to its second detent and hold the switch until the door glass is fully closed. Continue to hold the window switch up for two seconds after the door glass is full closed.
  3. Lower the door glass to the full-down position by pushing down (depress) the window switch to its second detent and hold the switch until the door glass is fully open. Continue to hold the window switch down for two seconds after the door glass is fully open.
  4. Check the operation of the express-up and express-down features.
  5. If the express up doesn't work, repeat the procedure starting at step #3, waiting for three seconds after the door glass stops.
  6. Check that the door glass reverses when in the express-up mode by holding a pen in the path of the glass.
  7. Recheck and repair any door module DTC's as needed

CONVERTIBLE

Note. The battery must be fully charged or the vehicle running for proper calibration of the front door module.

Note. The following procedure must be performed anytime the power window system has been serviced in either front door or, there is a possible concern with a door module calibration.

Smart-glass / Express-down possible concerns.

  1. Glass will not drop correctly when door is opened.
  2. Glass will not raise after door is closed.
  3. Glass will not lower all the way down flush to the beltline.
  4. Glass will not raise fully; wind noise / water leak.

To clear/denormalize the door module memory, perform the following procedure

  1. Check and repair any door module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) (s) as needed.
  2. Using a scan tool, under the Miscellaneous functions menu select (Denormalize Window/Reset ECU), and follow the directions to clear/denormalize the door module memory.

To relearn/normalize the door module memory, perform the following procedure

Note. The battery must be fully charged or the vehicle running before proceeding.

  1. If needed, place the vehicle battery on charge or have the engine running. NOTE: The convertible top must be completely closed and locked during this procedure. NOTE: Both doors must be completely closed before proceeding.
  2. Sit in the driver seat and close the door.
  3. Using the Power Top Switch, raise all side window glass to the full-up position. Continue to hold the top switch for two seconds after all the side window's are fully closed. NOTE: Using the Power Top Switch to raise the windows is to insure the power convertible top is completely locked and secure. If the top is not, the windows will not go to the full-up position.
  4. Using the window switch, lower the door glass to the full-down position by pushing down (depress) the window switch to its second detent and hold the switch until the door glass is fully open. Continue to hold the window switch down for two seconds after the door glass is fully open.
  5. Raise the door glass to the full-up position by pulling up on the window switch and hold the switch until the door glass is fully closed. Continue to hold the window switch up for two seconds after the door glass is full closed
  6. Check the operation of the smart-glass. Verify that the door glass drops approximately 1/4 inch when the door opens, and raises when door closes. If window does not drop or raise, repeat procedure starting at step #3
  7. Check the operation of the express-down feature.
  8. If the smart-glass does not work, repeat the procedure starting at step #3, waiting for three seconds after the window stops.
  9. Recheck and repair any door module DTC's as needed

FRONT DOOR

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove door trim panel. Refer to «PANEL, DOOR TRIM, REMOVAL»(ref-485483-S36036329462012071300000) .
  3. Disconnect switch wire connector.
  4. Remove switch assembly.

REAR DOOR

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the interior handle. Refer to «HANDLE, EXTERIOR, REMOVAL»(ref-485483-S34537180582012071300000) .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the switch from the handle.
  1. Install the switch by snapping into place.
  2. Connect switch wire connector.
  3. Install the door trim panel. Refer to «PANEL, DOOR TRIM, INSTALLATION»(ref-485483-S00842260702012071300000) .
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  1. Install the switch to the handle.
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the interior door handle. Refer to «HANDLE, EXTERIOR, INSTALLATION»(ref-485483-S04468567502012071300000) .
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
