Body Control Computer: Overview Chrysler LHS II

FUEL GAUGE/LED FAULTY OPERATION

Note. Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 12A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A after each repair.

CAUTIONAlways turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure fuel tank is not empty. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read ignition voltage. If scan tool displays zero voltage, go to «INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 12D»(ref-679-S38927570742000031300000). If scan tool does not display zero voltage, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, read fuel level voltage status. If scan tool displays one voltage, go to «INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 12E»(ref-679-S22272339372000031300000). If scan tool does not display one voltage, go to next step.
  3. Remove rear seat cushion. Disconnect fuel pump 10-pin harness connector. Turn ignition on. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 1 (Black wire) and No. 2 (Dark Blue wire) on harness side of connector. Using scan tool, read fuel level sensor voltage. If scan tool displays less than one volt, replace fuel level sensor. If scan tool displays one volt or greater, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect jumper wire. Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. (Схема №1)
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM Blue 16-pin connector C4. Inspect harness connector. Repair as needed. If connector is okay, replace BCM.

Turn ignition off. Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from junction block. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. (Схема №1)

GENERAL INFORMATION

SECURED ACCESS mode is not required to check programmed status of key.

If PCM is replaced, unique secret key data must be transferred from SKIM to PCM. This procedure requires SKIM to be placed in SECURED ACCESS mode using 4 digit PIN code.

If 3 attempts are made to enter secured access mode using an incorrect PIN, SECURED ACCESS mode will be locked out for one hour. To exit lock out mode, turn ignition to RUN/START position continuously for one hour. Ensure all accessories are turned off. Monitor battery state and connect battery charger is necessary.

To program smart keys using "customer programming method" requires 2 valid smart keys. See appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article.
