Vehicle model is identified by fifth character of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). VIN is stamped on metal pad on top of left end of instrument panel, near windshield. See MODEL IDENTIFICATION table.

POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
Note. Three types of engine control modules are available and are used according to engine configuration. All 2.2L (VIN 4), 3.4L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L and 6.5L vehicles are equipped with a Powertrain Control Module (PCM). All 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L (gasoline) and 7.4L vehicles are equipped with a Vehicle Control Module (VCM). Vehicles equipped with 5.7L flex-fuel (gasoline and CNG) engines use both PCM and an Alternative Fuel Engine Control Unit (AF ECU). The AF ECU controls CNG operation, PCM controls gasoline operation.
