DTC P0117: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT - LOW VOLTAGE Chevrolet Venture I

Circuit Description

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor that varies resistance based on temperature. As temperature of sensor increases, resistance decreases. High temperature will result in a low signal voltage. DTC will set when ECT sensor signal indicates an engine coolant temperature greater than 284°F (140°C) for more than 15 seconds.
