DTC P0118: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT - HIGH VOLTAGE Chevrolet Venture I

Note. For circuit reference, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.

Circuit Description

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor that varies resistance based on temperature. As temperature of sensor increases, resistance decreases. Low temperature will result in a high signal voltage. DTC will set when ECT sensor indicates engine coolant temperature less than -37°F (-39°C) for more than 3 seconds.
