Installation Procedure: Overview Chevrolet Venture I

Mechanical ~297 words
  1. Install the condenser to the radiator NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems
  2. Install the mounting bolts which secure the condenser to the radiator. Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
  3. Install the condenser tube bracket bolt. Tighten the bolt to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
  4. Install the radiator/condenser assembly
  5. Install the inlet tube that connects the condenser to the evaporator, and bolt the tube to the condenser block. Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
  6. Install the A/C discharge hose and nut to the condenser block. Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
  7. Connect the transaxle oil cooler lines to the radiator
  8. Install the lower hose to the radiator
  9. Install the cooling fan and shroud assembly
  10. Reposition the engine mount bracket. Install the strut bracket brace bolts to the upper radiator support. Tighten the bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
  11. Install the battery NOTE: When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL® or HAVOLINE® DEX-COOL® coolant. If Coolant other than DEX-COOL® or HAVOLINE® DEX-COOL® is added to the system the engine coolant will require change sooner; at 50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months
  12. Fill the cooling system
  13. Recharge the A/C system
  14. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly
