Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Steering Wheel Controls (SWC) Switch Voltage parameter. Pressing the switch should read voltage present and drop to 0 volts when released.

Symptoms - Secondary and Configurable Customer Controls

IMPORTANTPerform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following conditions are true: There are no DTCs set. The control modules can communicate via the serial data link. Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to Steering Wheel Controls Description and Operation .

Intermittent

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .

Memory Seats Programming

Perform the following actions in order to program the memory seats

  1. Move the seat and the outside mirror to the desired position.
  2. Press and hold the correct memory seat button for the specific driver until a chime is heard.
  3. Move the seat to the desired EXIT position.
  4. Press and hold the EXIT button until a chime is heard.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the remaining driver.

Programming Features with the Driver Information Center (DIC)

To enter programming with the driver information center (DIC), perform the following actions

  1. Turn the ignition to RUN.
  2. Place the vehicle in PARK.
  3. Press the Personalization button on the steering wheel to enter personalization programming.

Automatic Door Locks

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the automatic door locks

  1. Press the Select button in order to enter the menu. The first choice seen is the current setting.
  2. Press the Select button in order to scroll through the following options: LOCK DOORS: IN GEAR LOCK DOORS: WITH SPEED
  3. Press the Personalization button in order to advance to the next option.
  4. Press the Select button in order to enter the menu. The first choice seen is the current setting.
  5. Press the Select button in order to scroll through the following options: UNLOCK DRIVER: IN PARK UNLOCK DOORS: IN PARK UNLOCK DOORS: AT KEY OUT UNLOCK DOORS: MANUALLY
  6. Press the Personalization button in order to advance to the next option.

Remote Activation Verification

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the remote activation verification feature

  1. Press the Select button in order to enter the menu. The first choice seen is the current setting.
  2. Press the Select button in order to scroll through the following options: LOCK FEEDBACK: BOTH LOCK FEEDBACK: OFF LOCK FEEDBACK: HORN LOCK FEEDBACK: LAMPS
  3. Press the Personalization button in order to advance to the next option.

Perimeter Lighting

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the perimeter lighting

  1. Press the Select button in order to enter the menu. The first choice seen is the current setting.
  2. Press the Select button in order to scroll through the following options: PERIMETER LIGHTS: OFF PERIMETER LIGHTS: ON
  3. Press the Personalization button in order to advance to the next option.

Easy Exit Seat

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the Easy Exit Seat Feature.

  1. Press the Select button in order to enter the menu. The first choice seen is the current setting.
  2. Press the Select button in order to scroll through the following options: EASY EXIT SEAT: OFF (Default) EASY EXIT SEAT: ON

Tilt Mirror In Reverse

Content Theft Deterrent Alarm

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the content theft deterrent alarm

  1. Press the Select button in order to enter the menu. The first choice seen is the current setting.
  2. Press the Select button in order to scroll through the following options: ALARM WARNING: HORN ALARM WARNING: LAMPS ALARM WARNING: BOTH ALARM WARNING: OFF
  3. Press the Personalization button in order to advance to the next option.

Display Language

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the display language

  1. Press the Select button in order to enter the menu. The first choice seen is the current setting.
  2. Press the Select button in order to scroll through the following options: LANGUAGE: ENGLISH LANGUAGE: FRANCAIS LANGUAGE: ESPANOL If you accidentally choose a language that you don't want or understand, press and hold the PERSONALIZATION button and the TRIP INFORMATION button at the same time. The DIC will begin scrolling through the languages in their particular language. English will be in English, French will be in French and so on. when you see the language that you want to select, release both buttons. The DIC will then display the information in the language that you selected.
  3. Press the Personalization button in order to advance to the next option.

Display Units (E/M)

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the display units

  1. Press the Select button in order to enter the menu. The first choice seen is the current setting.
  2. Press the Select button in order to scroll through the following options: UNITS: U.S. (ENGLISH) UNITS: METRIC (Km/L) UNITS: METRIC (L/100KM)
  3. Press the Personalization button in order to advance to the next option.

Exit Programming

When the programming is complete or to exit programming before the list is complete, press any of the following DIC buttons

  1. Trip Info button
  2. Fuel Info button

Personalization

Personalization features may be set for the vehicle or the driver. Vehicle features do not change with each driver. Specific drivers are recognized by the vehicle through the keyless entry transmitters, the memory buttons or the driver information center (DIC) and the personalization settings for that driver are recalled.

Vehicle Personalization

Your vehicle is equipped with an automatic lock/unlock feature which enables you to program your vehicles power door locks. You can program this feature through the driver information center (DIC) or by the following method. See Driver Personalization for more information on DIC programming.

Programmable Locking Feature

The following is the list of available programming options

The following instructions tell you how to change the automatic door lock mode. Choose one of the three programming options listed above before entering the program mode. To enter the program mode, do the following

  1. Begin with the ignition off. Then pull the turn signal/multifunction lever toward you and hold it there while you perform the next step.
  2. Turn the key to RUN then back to LOCK twice. Then, with the key in LOCK, release the turn signal/multifunction lever. Once you do this, the doors will lock and unlock, the horn will chirp once and a 30-second timer will begin. You are now ready to program the automatic door lock feature.
  3. Press the lock side of the power lock switch once. You will hear one or two chimes. The number of chimes tells you which lock mode is currently selected. Continue to press the door lock switch until the number of chimes that you hear matches the number of the mode that you want. If you take longer than 30 seconds, the locks will automatically lock and unlock and the horn will chirp twice to indicate that you have left the program mode. If this occurs, you can repeat the procedure beginning with Step 1 to re-enter the programming mode.

You can exit the program mode any time by turning the ignition to RUN (the doors will automatically lock and unlock and the horn will chirp twice to indicate that you are leaving the program mode). If the lock/unlock switches are not pressed while in the programming mode, the current automatic settings will not be modified.

Programmable Unlocking Feature

The following is the list of available programming options

The following instructions tell you how to change the automatic door unlock mode. Choose one of the four programming options listed above before entering the program mode. To enter the program mode, do the following

  3. Press the unlock side of the power lock switch once. You will hear one, two, three or four chimes. The number of chimes tells you which unlock mode is currently selected. If this occurs, you can repeat the procedure beginning with Step 1 to re-enter the programming mode.
