Removal & Installation
- Disconnect Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) harness connector. (Scheme 6) Disconnect wheel cylinder brake pipes from Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV). Gently reposition brake pipes to allow removal of BPMV/EBCM.
- Remove upper BPMV bracket mounting bolt that connects upper BPMV mounting bracket to lower mounting bracket. Remove BPMV and EBCM as an assembly. Remove EBCM if only replacing BPMV.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Bleed brake system. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
Scheme 6
Disconnect negative battery cable. Release plastic retainers with blade of screwdriver and remove PCM cover. (Scheme 7) Disconnect PCM connectors. Remove PCM. To install, reverse removal procedure. After installation, PCM will need to programmed. See PCM REPROGRAMMING under PROGRAMMING.
