DTC P0103 - MAF SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH FREQUENCY Chevrolet Tahoe I

Note. For circuit reference (Схема №8) For connector and terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION.

Circuit Description

The Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine during a given time. PCM uses MAF sensor information to monitor EGR flow rates. A large quantity of air entering the engine indicates an acceleration, high load situation or no EGR flow, while a small quantity of air entering the engine indicates deceleration, idle, or full EGR operation.

MAF sensor produces a frequency signal. DTC P0103 will set if signal from MAF sensor does not match a predicted value based on engine coolant temperature, throttle angle, engine speed or MAF sensor is above the possible range of a normally operating MAF sensor. DTC will also set when the following conditions are present

  1. Engine is running.
  2. Engine run time is greater than 2 seconds.
  3. Engine speed.
  4. Listed conditions present for greater than 2 seconds.
  5. MAF signal frequency is greater than 10496 Hz.
