Body Control Modules: Removal & Installation Chevrolet Malibu V facelift

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Note. For module removal and installation procedures not listed, see appropriate article.

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove right sound insulator below instrument panel. Slide BCM off from bracket. see scheme 6 Disconnect BCM harness connectors. To install, reverse removal procedure. To program BCM, see PROGRAMMING.

1. Using flat-blade tool, gently pry off ignition switch trim cover. Using flat-blade tool, gently pry instrument panel accessory trim plate from instrument panel. Disconnect harness connector(s) from instrument panel accessory trim plate. Set instrument panel accessory trim plate aside.
2. Remove radio mounting screws. Pull radio outward from instrument panel. Disconnect harness connectors and antenna lead from radio. Remove radio. To install, reverse removal procedure. Program radio. See «RADIO»(ref-99721-S11657015612001081400000) under PROGRAMMING.
