Installation Procedure Chevrolet Equinox I

  1. Lightly oil the replacement oil filter gasket with clean oil.
  2. Install the new oil filter. Refer to «Maintenance Items»(ref-239715-S01286084532006080100000) in Maintenance and Lubrication. Tighten: Tighten the filter to 3/4 to 1 full turn, after the oil filter gasket contacts the oil filter mounting surface.
  3. Install the engine oil drain plug. Tighten: Tighten the plug to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  4. Remove the oil drain pan.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Remove the oil fill cap from the rocker arm cover.
  7. Fill the engine with new engine oil. Refer to «Capacities - Approximate Fluid»(ref-239715-S15971922632006080100000) , «Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations»(ref-239715-S42661263222006080100000) and «Maintenance Schedule (North American Emissions)»(ref-239715-S38740485572006080100000) in Maintenance and Lubrication.
  8. Install the oil fill cap to the rocker arm cover.
