TROUBLE SHOOTING

Scheme 1
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Pull throttle cable upward, out of retainer, and unhook from throttle actuator. Remove air filter housing, and disconnect mass airflow sensor. Detach vacuum line from air intake hose. Remove air intake hose from throttle assembly and idle-speed control valve. Raise vehicle and remove lower engine cover.
- Disconnect plastic fuel lines at connections. Disconnect wires going to starter. Remove starter mounting bolts from transmission output end with a long extension and a universal joint. Remove starter toward bottom, past fuel lines. Check starter pinion and starter crown gear for damage. (Scheme 1) To install, reverse removal procedure.
