Component overview

1 - Oil pan

1. Removing and installing --> «Oil pan, removing and installing»(/audi/tt/8n-2003-2006/remont/driveshaft-universal-joints/#6-speed-direct-shift-automatic-transmission-02e-awd)

2 - Bolts M6

1. Always replace
2. 5 x, for securing oil pan with oil pan gasket to transmission housing
3. Tightening torque: 10Nm

3 - Gasket

4 - Bolts M6

1. Always replace
2. For securing Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic -J743- to transmission housing
3. Tightening torque: 5 Nm plus 90° further (90° is equivalent to a one quarter turn)

5 - Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic -J743

1. With O-rings at connector; always replace O-rings
2. Removing and installing --> «Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic -J743-, removing and installing»(/audi/tt/8n-2003-2006/remont/driveshaft-universal-joints/#6-speed-direct-shift-automatic-transmission-02e-awd)

6 - Breather pipe

1. Pressed into transmission; must be replaced after removal

7 - Breather cap

1. Attached to breather pipe

8 - Gear oil cooler

1. Removing and installing --> «Gear oil cooler, removing and installing»(/audi/tt/8n-2003-2006/remont/driveshaft-universal-joints/#6-speed-direct-shift-automatic-transmission-02e-awd)

9 - M8 bolt

1. Always replace
2. For securing gear oil cooler to transmission housing
3. Tightening torque: 20 Nm plus 90° further (90° is equivalent to a one quarter turn)

10 - O-ring

1. Always replace

11 - Support bracket

12 - M8 bolt

1. Always replace
2. 2 x, for securing support bracket to transmission housing
3. Tightening torque: 20 Nm plus 90° further (90° is equivalent to a one quarter turn)

13 - Filter housing

1. Tightening torque on transmission: 20 Nm

14 - Gear oil filter

1. Removing and installing --> «Gear oil filter, removing and installing»(/audi/tt/8n-2003-2006/remont/driveshaft-universal-joints/#6-speed-direct-shift-automatic-transmission-02e-awd)

15 - Gear oil pump

1. Removing and installing --> «Gear oil pump, removing and installing»(/audi/tt/8n-2003-2006/remont/driveshaft-universal-joints/#6-speed-direct-shift-automatic-transmission-02e-awd)

16 - Bolts M6

1. Always replace
2. 4 x, for securing gear oil pump to transmission housing
3. Tightening torque: 5 Nm plus 90° further (90° is equivalent to a one quarter turn)

17 - Cover for gear oil pump

1. With gasket
2. Removing and installing --> «Gear oil pump, removing and installing»(/audi/tt/8n-2003-2006/remont/driveshaft-universal-joints/#6-speed-direct-shift-automatic-transmission-02e-awd)

18 - Bolts M6

1. Always replace
2. 4 x, for securing cover to transmission housing
3. Tightening torque: 8Nm

19 - Drain plug M24

1. Tightening torque: 45Nm

20 - Seal

1. Always replace

21 - Inspection plug M24

1. Tightening torque: 45Nm

22 - Seal

1. Always replace

23 - Overflow pipe

1. Tightening torque: 3Nm

24 - Protective shield

25 - Bolt M10

1. 4 x, for securing protective shield to transmission housing
2. Tightening torque: 32Nm
