1. Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051B
2. Calibration Tool For Lane Changing Assist VAS 6350
3. Spacing Laser VAS 6350/2

After performing service work on the vehicle, it may be necessary to calibrate the rear view camera system. In detail, this is the case after

1. Removing and installing Rear View Camera -R189
2. Replacing Rear View Camera System Control Module -J772
3. after repair work performed on rear lid following an accident
4. after a vehicle alignment
5. after performing a repair on the rear axle

Preparations Before Starting Work

Vehicle must stand on a firm and level surface to perform the calibration. No persons may be in the vehicle interior during the measurement. Vehicle must not be moved during the measurement, opening and closing of vehicle doors is to be avoided. The rear lid is closed.

Connect the VAS5051B.

Bring the Steering Angle Sensor -G85- into 0-position (wheels straight ahead).

1. Left Paddle
2. Right Paddle
3. Right Angle Bracket VAS 6350/2 mount
4. Plastic Foot Three on underside of calibration platform Adjustable for aligning horizontal position of calibration platform
5. Linear Laser On Calibration Platform Switching on and off. Refer to the operating instructions.
6. Spacing Laser VAS 6350/2 Notes on operation, refer to operating instructions.
7. Spirit Level On Calibration Platform For checking horizontal position of calibration platform
8. Left Angle Bracket VAS 6350/2 mount
9. Measuring Field Of Calibration Platform Distance to rear wheel axle 1.47 m - 1.90 m -dimension A-.

PERFORMING CALIBRATION

In VAS 5051B, select "Guided Functions".

or

In VAS 5051B, select "Guided Fault Finding".

Select the corresponding vehicle data in the "vehicle selection" menu.

Select "rear view camera system".

Select "functions".

Select "Calibration".
