Checking voltage supply from terminals 15 and 30
- Connect VAG1598/31 test box to wiring harness for engine control module. Do not connect to engine control module itself. See «WIRING AND COMPONENT CHECK WITH VAG1598/31 TEST BOX»(ref-216438-S11057563412006020800000) .
- Connect multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) (voltage measurement range) to following sockets on test box: VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS (TERMINALS 15 & 30) Voltage supply from terminal 15 Socket Specification Ignition on 1 (Ground) + 3 (B+) approx. battery voltage Ignition on 2 (Ground) + 3 (B+) approx. battery voltage Voltage supply from terminal 30 Socket Specification Ignition off 1 (Ground) + 62 (B+) approx. battery voltage Ignition off 2 (Ground) + 62 (B+) approx. battery voltage
If the specifications are not obtained
- Check wiring. See SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM .
- Display readiness code. See «READINESS CODE, CHECKING»(ref-216437-S40758807032006020800000) . If DTC memory was erased generate readiness code. See «READINESS CODE, GENERATING»(ref-216437-S25676712792006020800000) .
