- Silicone sealant

- Engine removed.
- Remove flywheel (see «FLYWHEEL OR DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING»(ref-196254-S30732606932005100700000) ) or remove drive plate (see «REMOVING»(ref-196254-S05825403802005100700000) ).
- Remove oil pan (upper part). See «OIL PAN (UPPER PART), REMOVING AND INSTALLING»(ref-196254-S01314103342005100700000) .
- Unbolt rear sealing flange (arrow).
- Using rotating plastic brush, remove remaining sealant from rear sealing flange and at cylinder block. WARNING: Wear protective glasses.
- Clean sealing surfaces so they are free of oil and grease.
Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following
Note. The rear sealing flange must be installed within 5 minutes after application of silicon sealant.

- Cut tube nozzle at front marking (jet diameter approx. 1 mm).
- Apply silicon sealant bead to clean sealing surface of sealing flange as depicted in illustration. Thickness of sealant bead (arrow): approx. 1.5 mm NOTE: Sealant bead must not be thicker than specified, otherwise sealant could get into oil pan and clog the oil pump strainer.
- To install, slide guide sleeve from kit onto crankshaft.
- Install oil pan (upper part), see «INSTALLING»(ref-196254-S09691363142005100700000) .
- Install flywheel (see «INSTALLING»(ref-196254-S21259759042005100700000) ) or install drive plate (see «INSTALLING»(ref-196254-S30329670162005100700000) ).
