Refer to «DOOR TRIM STORAGE POCKET REINFORCEMENT»(/audi/a5/i-2007-2011/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim-coupe__door-trim-storage-pocket-reinforcement) NOTE: When replacing the door trim panel, a hole for the sleeve -7- must be made in the new panel using the old panel as a sample.

Replace the clips if necessary. Follow safety measures when working with front side airbag crash sensors (pressure sensors). Tighten the bolts -1, 2, 3 and 5- to 1.3 Nm

Finally, tighten the bolt -4- in the 16 mm hole to 1.3 Nm.

WARNINGFor proper crash sensor (pressure sensor) function, ensure door does not leak. The door trim clips -arrows- seal the system. Replace the clips if necessary. Follow the safety precautions when working with side airbag crash sensors (pressure sensors). Refer to FRONT SIDE AIRBAG CRASH SENSORS, SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

Connect the electrical connector on the door control module with the window regulator motor.

First engage the door trim on the treble speaker bracket.

Position the door trim on the window recess and press it down firmly.

Carefully position the door trim clips on the door and press the door trim onto the door until it engages audibly on the mounting points.

Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

DOOR TRIM STORAGE POCKET REINFORCEMENT

On vehicles that have a reinforcement in the door trim storage pocket, it must be installed in the new trim after the trim is replaced.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

REMOVING

Note. Be extremely careful when removing and installing because it is easy to damage the speaker trim.

Using a small screwdriver, carefully release the speaker trim -1- at the rear retaining pins -arrow- but only lift it up approximately 10 mm.

Insert a long screwdriver under the speaker trim at the very front -arrow A- until it comes into contact directly on the right front retaining pins.

Remove the side instrument panel vent. Refer to SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL VENT .

Remove the MMI screen cover. Refer to MMI SCREEN .

Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to [For engine(s) CAUA, CAEB, CALA] Removal and Installation .

Disconnect the electrical connector on the access/start authorization switch. Refer to [For engine(s) CAUA, CAEB, CALA] Removal and Installation .

Remove the center instrument panel vent. Refer to CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL VENT .

Remove the radio/navigation system. Refer to [For engine(s) CAUA, CAEB, CALA] Removal and Installation .

Remove the climatronic control module -J255- [For engine(s) CAUA, CAEB, CALA] Removal and Installation .

Remove the sunlight photo sensor -G107-. Refer to [For engine(s) CAUA, CAEB, CALA] Removal and Installation .

Vehicles with speakers: Remove the center midrange speaker inside the instrument panel. Refer to [For engine(s) CAUA, CAEB, CALA] Removal and Installation .

Remove the upper A-pillar trim A-PILLAR UPPER TRIM .

Remove the instrument panel central tube brace bolts -2-.

Fold the backrest forward.

Remove the C-pillar trim. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM .

Remove left and right speaker trim. Refer to SPEAKER TRIM .

Vehicles equipped with a speaker: remove screws -1 ••• 4-.

Vehicles equipped with an additional fastener: remove the bolt -arrow- on the left of the rear shelf (under the speaker trim).

Unclip the rear shelf at the front using the pry lever 80 - 200 -A arrows-.

Disengage the left and right of the rear shelf at the side trim.

Vehicles equipped with a sun shade: detach the rear shelf from the sun shade.

Pull the rear shelf forward -B arrows- and remove it.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Note. If the rear shelf clips remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the rear shelf. Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

Insert the rear of the rear shelf in the rear window frame or the sun shade.

Press the front of the rear shelf on until it engages audibly.

For the correct tightening specifications, refer to REAR SHELF OVERVIEW, (Scheme 15) and [For engine(s) CAUA, CAEB, CALA] Removal and Installation.

SIDE TRIM

Note. Removing and installing is identical for the left and right sides.

Remove the sill panel strip. Refer to SILL PANEL .

Remove the C-pillar trim. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM .

Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to BENCH SEAT .

Depending on the side, remove the 2/3 right backrest, refer to BACKREST or the 1/3 left backrest, refer to BACKREST .

Remove the luggage compartment side trim. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM .

Unclip the side trim -1- beginning at the front using the trim removal wedge 3409 -arrows-.

Remove the rear belt anchor. Refer to REAR BELT ANCHOR .

Thread the belt webbing with seat belt latch out through the belt extraction panel.

Vehicles equipped with a treble speaker: Disconnect the harness connector and remove the side trim.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Note. If any clamps and clips remain in the body, remove them and insert them in the trim. Check clamps and securing clips for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

Thread the belt webbing with seat belt latch through the belt extraction panel.

Install the rear belt anchor. Refer to REAR BELT ANCHOR .

Position the side trim and press it on until all the mounting points engage.

Stretch the door seal lip over the side trim.

SILL PANEL

Note. Removing and installing is identical for the left and right sides.

Remove the lower A-pillar trim. Refer to A-PILLAR LOWER TRIM .

Unclip sill panel strip -1- from the side member beginning at the front using the trim removal wedge 3409 -A arrows-.

Disengage the sill panel strip from the side trim -B arrow- and remove it.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Note. If the sill panel strip clips remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim. Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

Engage the sill panel strip in the side trim and press it onto the side member until it engages audibly.

Stretch the door seal lip over.

SPEAKER TRIM

Note. Be extremely careful when removing and installing because it is easy to damage the speaker trim. Removing and installing is identical for the left and right sides.

Fold the backrest forward.

Unclip the speaker trim -1- using a screwdriver -arrow-.

Vehicles equipped with a speaker: disconnect the electrical connector and remove the speaker trim in a forward direction.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Remove rear shelf. Refer to REAR SHELF .

Vehicles equipped with an additional rear shelf mount: remove screw -2- and spacer -1-.

Remove the bolts -arrows- on the sun shade guide strip.

Tilt the guide strip -3- in slightly and disengage both latches -2- and -4- by rotating slightly.

  1. The sun shade guide channel must run into the guide strip without the connecting piece being offset.

Clip guide piece -3- at both retaining hooks -2- and -4- on the front and rear with connecting piece -1-.

To ensure the retaining hooks -1- are seated securely, pull them forward until they engage completely using an offset screwdriver -arrow-.

Remove the tie-down. Refer to TIE-DOWNS .

Loosen the release cable with the remote unlocking handle and let it hang by the attached release cable. Refer to RELEASE CABLE WITH REMOTE CONTROL UNLOCK HANDLE .

Remove the expanding clip -1- with the pry lever 80 - 200.

Pry off the luggage compartment side trim -2- using the pry lever 80 - 200 from the body -A arrows-.

Remove the luggage compartment trim form the side trim -B arrows-.

Disengage the luggage compartment side trim at the hinges and remove it.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Note. If the trim clamps remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim. Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

Press the luggage compartment side trim until it engages audibly.

Stretch the rear lid seal lip over the luggage compartment side trim.

REAR CROSS PANEL TRIM

Remove the luggage compartment liner. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LINER .

Remove the lip of the rear lid seal in the area of the rear cross panel trim.

Unclip rear cross panel trim -2- upward vertically using a trim removal wedge 3409 -arrows-.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Note. If the trim clamps remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim. Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

Guide the left and right rear cross panel trim retaining tabs in the openings on luggage compartment side trim -1-.

Insert the rear cross panel trim so that the left and right tabs engage in pins -3-.

Push on the rear cross panel trim until it engages audibly and stretch the lip of the rear lid seal over the rear cross panel trim.

Remove rear lid lock trim -1- in the direction of the -arrow-.

Install in reverse order of removal.

REAR LID TRIM

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Remove the center console bracket and lower the shift mechanism. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE BRACKET .

Remove the upper A-pillar trims. Refer to A-PILLAR UPPER TRIM .

Remove the C-pillar trims. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM .

Remove the B-pillar trims. Refer to B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL .

Open the sun shade -2- about 2 / 3 .

Clean release lever T10039 to avoid soiling headliner.

Release the clips one after another using the release lever T10039 as shown in the illustration -arrow-.

CAUTIONThe headliner bends easily. Replace the headliner if it is bent.

Unclip the headliner -1- at the rear of the body -arrows- and let it hang by the limiting straps.

Carefully lower the front of the headliner.

Note. A second technician is needed to loosen the limiting straps and remove the headliner.

Disengage the headliner limiting straps -2- by pressing the catches together using needle nose pliers -arrows- and removing the clips from the body.

Note. If it is difficult to reach the limiting straps, cut them and replace them during installation.

Note. Remove the headliner -1- through the passenger door opening.

Lower the front of the headliner and rotate it while tilting the left side down and guiding the left front corner of the headliner under the instrument panel -3-.

Remove right door seal -2- in the area of the B-pillar and the roof frame.

Remove the right front corner of the headliner at the B-pillar and roof frame until the opening comes into contact on the B-pillar.

Press the top of the headliner up on the B-pillar and the roof frame while guiding the bottom out at the side member and A-pillar.

Press the top of headliner -1- up on the B-pillar/roof frame and continue pulling out until the opening -arrow- comes into contact with the B-pillar.

Remove the headliner through the passenger door.

Note. If the headliner clamps remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the headliner. Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

Country-specific with deformation elements: position self-adhesive deformation elements on the marks on the headliner and press firmly.

Position the top of the headliner on the B-pillar and roof frame and on the side member and A-pillar through the front passenger door opening.

Press the top of the headliner up on the opening on the B-pillar and the roof frame while guiding the bottom in at the side member and A-pillar.

Scheme 123: INSTALLING

Rotate the headliner and bring it into the installation position by pressing the top of it up on the B-pillar and roof frame and then guiding the lower left front corner under instrument panel -3-.

Clip the limiting straps on the rear of the headliner into the body.

Further installation is performed in reverse sequence of removal, but observe the following

Align the headliner before securing and press it into the body mounting points until the clips engage.

ROOF GRAB HANDLE

CAUTIONUnclip the expanding caps -1- and -3- but only up to their lock position (do not pull them out all the way otherwise the silicone brake and spring and fall out and then the handle has to be replaced).

Unclip expanding caps -1- and -3- to the locking position using an offset screwdriver -2-.

Remove the roof grab handle -4- from the body opening.

Insert the roof grab handles in the body cut-outs.

Press the roof grab handle expanding caps on until they engage completely.

ROOF REINFORCEMENT, VEHICLES WITHOUT SUNROOF, INSTALLING ON BODY

Apply the beads of adhesive -arrow- to roof reinforcement as illustrated.

  1. Distance between the adhesive beads -a- = approximately 90 mm (3.5 in).
  2. Distance of the outer bead of adhesive to the edge of the roof reinforcement, dimension -b- = approximately 20 mm (0.75 in).

Mount the roof reinforcement -1- centered to outer sides and at distance -a- to the bow -2- of the front edge of the roof.

Push roof reinforcement from inside onto body roof.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Engage the sun visor bracket tab in the opening in the headliner.

Press the sun visor expanding cap on until it engages completely.

SUN VISOR CENTER BRACKET

Disengage the sun visor in the center of the vehicle at the center bracket and fold it to the side.

Unclip the sun visor center bracket cover -1- by sliding the pry lever 80 - 200 only approximately 1 mm under the cap -2 arrows-.

Note. If the pry lever 80 - 200 is shoved further underneath, it will then be under the center bearing for the sun visor. At that point, it is not possible to pry off the cover.

Remove sun visor center bracket -3- -arrow 4-.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following

Note. Make sure the expanding clips are not damaged when inserting the sun visor center bracket.
