The lid front height can be adjusted by loosening the nut and sliding it in the direction of the -arrow-.
With the hinge installed, the rear shelf must be removed.
With the rear shelf installed, disengage the spring on the hinge.
Remove the hinge under the rear shelf, loosen the nut on the hinge and slide it accordingly.
After adjusting, tighten the nut on the hinge to 20 Nm.
Install the hinge and engage the spring and gas-filled strut, if necessary.
The rear height can be adjusted by sliding the striker pin -1-.

Loosen the nut -2-, slide it accordingly and tighten the nuts to the specification.

- Release NOTE: When re-installing, route the rear lid lock cable starting on the inside of the lid, over the hinge and into the passenger compartment. The clips for the cable have been prepositioned and can be inserted into the holes. Before removing, remove the cover on the latch First disconnect from the cable mounting bracket on the latch and then disconnect from the operating lever.

Installing: -- Slide the fuel filler door unlock motor onto the flange and slide the emergency release into the luggage compartment.

Note. After completely removing gas-filled strut, ensure correct position when installing: Tube of gas-filled strut must be engaged on body side
Press gas-filled strut onto ball stud and engage.
Gas-filled Strut, Venting

Clamp gas-filled strut in a vise in area -x- = 50 mm (2 in.).

Note. Cover area of sawn portion with a rag to absorb oil spraying out.
Cut through the gas-filled strut cylinder within the first third of the overall cylinder length using the piston rod end of the cylinder as a reference point.

- Plenum Chamber Seal To remove, pull back from the body flange at the sides. When installing, slide it into the sealing profile with pre-tension beginning at the sides. Press seal onto opposite side in stages. Slide seal into sealing profile on opposite side. Compress the excess length along the plenum chamber bulkhead.
- Right Sealing Profile To remove, unclip from the body and remove it sideways under the fender flange. When installing, the clips on the foam piece must engage in the body.
- Plenum Chamber Bulkhead Slide the plenum chamber seal on at the sides.
- Left Sealing Profile To remove, unclip from the body and remove it sideways under the fender flange. When installing, the clips on the foam piece must engage in the body.

- Rear Lid NOTE: On vehicles equipped with a fixed rear panel, the cable for the rear lid emergency release must first be disconnected and pulled out of the rear lid before the rear lid can be removed. Installing in reverse order Adjusting: -- Adjust the front height and the position of the rear lid lengthwise using the hood hinge. -- Adjust the height at the rear above the rear lid lock. -- Align the rear lid so it is centered according to the gap dimensions. Slightly lift the retaining springs -arrow- on the gas-filled strut -1- using a small screwdriver and remove it from the ball stud -2-.
Rear Lid Hinge End Stop

To remove, press the retainer on the clip to the side.
Clip the end stop -2- under the rear shelf -1- in the direction of the -arrow-.
The retainer on the clip must engage audibly.
Gas-filled Strut, Venting
Clamp gas-filled strut in a vise in area -x- = 50 mm (2 in.).
