CENTRAL LOCKING -SAFE- INDICATOR LAMP

Removing

Switch off all electrical consumers.

Remove ignition key.

Using a flat-head screwdriver, carefully pry cover -1- over center instrument panel speaker off instrument panel -4-.

Remove Central Locking -SAFE- Indicator Lamp -K133- -item 2-.

Disconnect electrical connector.

Note. Disregard -3- and -5

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Scheme 72: CENTER DEFROSTER VENT
  1. Instrument Panel
  2. Center Defroster Vent Removing NOTE: Identify connectors before disconnecting to prevent confusion or for better allocation. -- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off. Refer to «GROUND CABLE WITH BATTERY MONITORING CONTROL MODULE, IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT»(ref-496019-S40347088062012082100000) . -- Using a flat-head screwdriver -6-, carefully pry off cover over center instrument panel speaker. -- Remove cover cap -5- or Sunlight Photo Sensor -G107- -item 7-. -- Disconnect electrical connector on Sunlight Photo Sensor -G107-. -- Remove Central Locking -SAFE- Indicator Lamp -K133- -item 8-. -- Disconnect electrical connector on Central Locking -SAFE- Indicator Lamp -K133-. -- Remove screws -4- (quantity: 4). -- Raise center mid/high range speaker -3- out of instrument panel -1- and disconnect electrical connector. WARNING: Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. -- Remove instrument panel -1-. Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL»(ref-496058-S31255928522012082100000) . -- Remove nuts -9- (quantity: 5). -- Remove defroster vent -2- upward out of instrument panel -1-. Installation Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following: -- Make sure the airbag unit connector engages completely (audibly) with coupling on airbag unit. WARNING: Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery. -- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. Refer to «[For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CCTA, CBFA] GROUND CABLE WITH BATTERY MONITORING CONTROL MODULE, IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT»(ref-496019-S40347088062012082100000) . . NOTE: If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75- indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.

  8. Central Locking -SAFE- Indicator Lamp -K133
  9. Nut Quantity: 5 NOTE: Tighten nuts -9- carefully to prevent mounting pins on center defroster vent from shearing off. When tightening nuts -9-, ensure distance between upper side of instrument panel -1- and upper edge of center defroster vent -2- is even and gap dimension all around is even.
