Note. Before testing, troubleshoot the multiplex integrated control system first, using B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Remove the driver's dashboard undercover (see «DRIVER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard-4-cyl__drivers-dashboard-undercover-removalinstallation) ), then remove the dashboard lower cover (see «DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard-4-cyl__drivers-dashboard-lower-cover-removalinstallation) ).
  3. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors D, P, Q, and R. NOTE: All connector views are wire side of female terminals.
  4. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 5.
  5. Reconnect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 6.   6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and remove the passenger's kick panel (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim-4-cyl__trim-removalinstallation-door-areas) ).
  7. Disconnect passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors A, E, and H. NOTE: All connector views are wire side of female terminals.
  8. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 9.
  9. Reconnect the connectors to the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 10.   10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and remove the power window master switch (see «POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/windows/#power-windows-4-cyl) ).
  11. Disconnect the 37P connector from the power window master switch. POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH 37P CONNECTOR
  12. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 13.
  13. Reconnect the 37P connector to the power window master switch, and do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 14. If multiple failures are found on more than one control unit, replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (includes the driver's MICU), USA models (see «DRIVER'S UNDER-DASH FUSE/RELAY BOX (MICU) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/fuses-circuit-breakers/#under-dash-fuserelay-box-4-cyl__drivers-under-dash-fuserelay-box-micu-removal) ), Canada models (see «SPECIAL TOOLS REQUIRED»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/fuses-circuit-breakers/#under-dash-fuserelay-box-4-cyl__special-tools-required) ). If input failures are related to a particular control unit, replace the control unit.

Ignition Key Switch Test

Scheme 63: Ignition Key Switch Test
  1. Remove the steering column upper and lower covers (see «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard-4-cyl__column-cover-removalinstallation) ).
  2. Disconnect the 6P connector (A).
  3. Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be continuity with the key in the ignition switch. There should be no continuity with the key removed.
  4. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the steering lock (see «STEERING LOCK REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/manual-power-steering/#steering-4-cyl) ).

Scheme 64: Ignition Key Light Test
  1. Remove the steering column upper and lower covers (see «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard-4-cyl__column-cover-removalinstallation) ).
  2. Disconnect the 6P connector (A).
  3. The LED should come on when power is connected to terminal No. 6 and ground is connected to terminal No. 5.
  4. If the LED does not come on, replace the steering lock (see «STEERING LOCK REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/manual-power-steering/#steering-4-cyl) ).
