Scheme 95: Trunk Lid Adjustment
  1. Remove the rear shelf (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SHELF AREA»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__trim-removalinstallation-rear-shelf-area) ).
  2. Adjust the alignment of the trunk lid (A) in the following sequence. Adjust the trunk lid hinges (B) right and left, as well as forward and rearward, by using the elongated holes. Take care not to hit the rear window when loosening the bolts (C). Turn the trunk lid edge cushions (D), in or out as necessary, to make the trunk lid fit flush with the body at the rear and side edges. Adjust the fit between the trunk lid and the trunk lid opening by moving the striker (E). (Scheme 95): Identifying Trunk Lid Adjustment
  3. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
  4. Make sure the trunk lid opens properly and locks securely.
  5. Reinstall all remaining removed parts.

  1. Remove the torsion bars (A) from the torsion bar center clip (B). (Scheme 96): Removing Torsion Bars From Torsion Bar Center Clip
  2. Put on gloves to protect your hands. Remove the torsion bars with the torsion bar tool (A) from both trunk lid hinges. First remove the left torsion bar (B), then remove the right torsion bar (C). (Scheme 97): Removing Right Torsion Bar
  3. Remove the torsion bar center clip from the body. (Scheme 98): Removing Torsion Bar Center Clip From Body
  4. Install the torsion bars in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: The shapes of the right torsion bar (A) and left torsion bar (B) are shown. Install the torsion bars properly. Adjust the torsion bars forward or rearward with the torsion bar assembly tool. Positions where each torsion bar was installed in the factory are: Left torsion bar: Normal position Right torsion bar: Higher tension Make sure the trunk lid opens properly and locks securely. Scheme 100: Trunk Lid Weatherstrip Replacement
  1. Remove the trunk lid weatherstrip (A) by pulling it off. (Scheme 100): Identifying Trunk Lid Weatherstrip
  2. Apply clear weatherstrip sealant (B) into the channel of the trunk lid weatherstrip all the way around. Sealant: Cemedine Weatherstrip Adhesive P/N 08712-0004
  3. Locate the painted alignment mark (C or D) on the trunk lid weatherstrip. Align the painted mark with the center of the tailgate opening, and install the trunk lid weatherstrip all the way around in the direction shown. Make sure there are no wrinkles in the weatherstrip.
  4. Check for water leaks.
