Bumper System Acura TL III

Front Bumper Removal/Installation

Note. Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the front bumper. Take care not to scratch the front bumper and body. Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Remove the front bulkhead cover (see «FRONT GRILLE LOWER MOLDING REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tl/iii-2003-2006/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#exterior-trim) ).
2. Remove the front stakes from under of the front bumper (see «FRONT STRAKE REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tl/iii-2003-2006/remont/exterior-body-panels/#fenderwell__front-strake-replacement) ).
3. Remove the front bumper as shown.
4. Remove the front bumper absorber as shown.
5. Install the bumper in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Make sure the front bumper engages the hooks of the side spacers and upper beams on both sides securely. Check for damaged or stress-whitened clips, and replace them with new ones. Push the clips and hooks into place securely.

Rear Bumper Removal/Installation

Special Tools Required

KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *

Note. Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the rear bumper. Take care not to scratch the rear bumper and body. Put on gloves to protect your hands. Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.

1. Remove the rear bumper as shown.
2. Remove the rear bumper absorber as shown.
3. Install the bumper in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Make sure the rear bumper engages the hooks of the side spacers, side brackets and upper brackets on both sides securely. Check for damaged or stress-whitened clips, and replace them with new ones. Push the clips and hooks into place securely.
