- Remove the bolts securing the front of the center console (A), then pull out both sides as needed.
- Gently pull out along the bottom to release the clips and hooks (A), then remove the center trim (B).
- Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Push the clip portions into place securely.
Utility Pocket Removal/Installation

- Remove the inner case (A), then remove the screws.
- Pull out the utility pocket (A), disconnect the ambient light bulb socket (B), then remove the pocket.
- Install the pocket in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Make sure the bulb socket is connected securely. Make sure the ambient light wire harness is not pinched.
Utility Pocket Housing Removal/Installation

- Remove the screws.
- Gently pull out along the top of the utility pocket housing (A) to release the clips, then lower the front side down to release the pins (B) from the select lever bracket (C).
- Disconnect the ambient light bulb socket (A), then remove the utility pocket housing (B).
- Install the pocket housing in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Make sure the bulb socket is connected securely. Push the clips into place securely.
Driver's Switch Panel Removal/Installation

- Gently pull out the driver's switch panel (A) to release the hooks (B) and detach the clips. Disconnect the power mirror switch connector (C), then remove the panel.
- Install the panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly. Push the clips and hooks into place securely.
Instrument Fascia Removal/Installation

- Tilt the steering column down, and telescope it out.
- Remove the instrument fascia (A). Gently pull out the bottom to release the clips (B, C). Disconnect the illumination switch connector (D) and CMS OFF/VSA OFF/AFS OFF switch connector (E).
- Install the instrument fascia in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly. Push the clips into place securely.

- Adjust the steering column upward.
- Remove the driver's dashboard undercover (see «DRIVER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/rl/ii-2004-2008/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#dashboard) ).
- Release the clip (A), and pull out the driver's dashboard lower cover (B) to detach the clips (C) and hooks (D), then remove the cover.
- Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Push the clips into place securely.

- Remove the driver's dashboard undercover (A). Gently pull down the front edge to detach the clips (B, C). Disconnect the ambient light connector (D). Pull the cover away to release the pin (E) from the holder (F).
- Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Push the clips into place securely. Make sure the holder of the cover is installed securely to the pin.
Driver's Vent Panel Removal/Installation

- Remove the passenger's vent panel (A). Open the glove box. Gently pull out the panel to release the clips (B, C). Disconnect the hazard warning switch/passenger airbag cutoff indicator connector (D).
- Install the panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Replace any damaged clips. Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
Document Tray Removal/Installation

- Open the glove box.
- Remove the document tray (A). Open the document tray. Release the blind fastener (B). Pull the document tray back to release the hooks (C).
- Install the tray in the reverse order of removal.

- Remove the Passenger's dashboard undercover (A). Gently pull down the front edge to detach the clips. Disconnect the ambient light connector (B). Pull the cover away to release the pins (C) from the holders (D).
- Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Push the clips into place securely. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly. Make sure the pins of the cover are installed securely to the holders.
Glove Box Removal/Installation

- Open the glove box (A) and document tray (B). Remove the lid (C), then remove the screws (D) and bolt (E).
- Close the glove box (A), then remove the bolts.
- Remove the glove box (A). Pull out the glove box, then remove the clips. Remove the harness clip (B) and the ambient light bulb socket (C). Disconnect the trunk lid opener main switch connector (D).
- Install the box in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones. Push the clips into place securely. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly, and the bulb socket is connected securely. Take care not to scratch the passenger's front console cover.
Glove Box Damper Replacement
Note. Take care not to scratch the glove box.

- Remove the screws (A, B), then remove the glove box damper (C), stopper rubber (D), and washer (E).
- Install the damper in the reverse order of removal.

- Remove the screw securing the glove box damper wire to the glove box (see step 2 ).
- Remove the spring pins (A) from both sides, then remove the glove box lid (B) from the glove box housing (C).
- Remove the screws, and release the hooks (A) from both sides, then remove the glove box front trim (B) from the glove box (C).
- Remove the glove box lock knob body (A) by removing the screws. Disconnect the pin (B) from the link.
- Using a flat-tip screwdriver, pry up the retainer (A), then remove the glove box lock cylinder (B). NOTE: Wear eye protection when doing this step.
- Set the retainer (A) into the lock body, then push the lock cylinder into the lock cylinder body until it snaps into the retainer.
- Install the lock knob body in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Before installing the lock knob body to the glove box, make sure the lock cylinder operates properly. Replace the spring pins with new ones. Before installing the spring pins, apply grease them.
Side Defogger Vent Trim Removal/Installation
Note. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts. Put on gloves to protect your hands. The driver's side is shown; the passenger's side is similar.

- Push on the lower hook (A) by hand to release it. Then gently press up on the side defogger trim (B) to remove it.
- Install the side defogger vent trim by pushing it into place securely.

- Remove the screw, then remove the passenger's joint duct (A).
- Disconnect and detach the passenger's airbag connector (A), from the steering hanger beam, and detach the steering hanger beam wire harness clip (B). Remove the passenger's airbag mounting nuts. Center
- Disconnect the RF unit connector (A) and detach the harness clip (B) from the unit bracket (C). Tie a string to the sunlight sensor harness connector (D), then pull the connector out through the hole (E) in the dashboard. Remove the bolts, then remove the RF unit (F).
- From the front of the dashboard, remove the screws (A) and bolts (B, C) securing the dashboard/steering hanger beam (D).
- Lift up on the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B), then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening. NOTE: Lay the dashboard on its front or back. Do not rest it on the lower console opening or you may damage it.
- Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly. Before tightening the bolts, make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched. Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system. Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them. Reset the power window control unit (see «RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT»(/acura/rl/ii-2004-2008/remont/windows/#power-windows__resetting-the-power-window-control-unit) ). Do the steering column position memorization (see «STEERING COLUMN POSITION MEMORIZATION»(/acura/rl/ii-2004-2008/remont/manual-power-steering/#power-steering-system-electronic-power-steering-system__steering-column-position-memorization) ).

- Disconnect the hood opener cable (see «HOOD OPENER CABLE REPLACEMENT»(/acura/rl/ii-2004-2008/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#openers__hood-opener-cable-replacement) ). Driver's side
- From under the dash, disconnect the keyless access control unit connectors (A), brake switch connector (B), left side wire harness connectors (C), engine compartment wire harness connectors (D), and disconnect the dashboard wire harness connectors (E) and combination subwire harness connector (F) from the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (G), then release the wire harness clips. NOTE: Lift the white wire harness connector locks (H) before trying to remove the connectors from the fuse box. Middle portion (shift lever portion)
- Disconnect and detach the left side wire harness connectors (A, B), release the wire harness clips (C), then remove the rear vent duct A (D). Disconnect the left side wire harness connectors (E) and dashboard wire harness connector (F) from the SRS control unit, and yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor connector (G). Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the ground bolt (H). Center (passenger's side)
- From under the dash, release the clip, and pull the carpet (A) back. Disconnect and detach the PCM connectors (B), engine wire harness connector (C). Passenger's side
- From under the dash, disconnect the passenger's door wire harness connector (A), the A/C subwire harness connectors (B), right side wire harness connectors (C) engine compartment wire harness connector (D), and disconnect the dashboard wire harness connectors (E) from the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box (F).
- Detach all of the harness and connector clips.
- Open the passenger's door, and gently pull out along the rear edge to release the hooks (A), then remove the passenger's dashboard side lid (B).
- Open the driver's door, and remove the caps (A), then remove the bolts (B, C), loosen two bolts (D), and lift up on the dashboard (E) to release it from the guide pins (F, G). NOTE: Before removing the dashboard/steering hanger beam, make sure all the harnesses have been disconnected.
- Carefully remove the dashboard/steering hanger beam through the front door opening. NOTE: Lay the dashboard on its front or back. Do not rest it on the lower console opening or you may damage it.
- Remove the bolts, then remove the center bracket (A).
- Install the dashboard/steering hanger beam in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Reinstall the center bracket on the center frame, and slightly tighten the mounting bolts. Reinstall the dashboard on the body. After tightening the dashboard mounting bolts and nut, tighten the center bracket mounting bolts and center frame mounting bolts. Make sure the dashboard/steering hanger beam fits onto the guide pins correctly. Apply liquid thread lock to the bolts securing the center bracket and the dashboard before reinstallation. Before tightening the bolts, make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched. Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system. Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them. Reset the power window control unit (see «RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT»(/acura/rl/ii-2004-2008/remont/windows/#power-windows__resetting-the-power-window-control-unit) ). Do the steering column position memorization (see «STEERING COLUMN POSITION MEMORIZATION»(/acura/rl/ii-2004-2008/remont/manual-power-steering/#power-steering-system-electronic-power-steering-system__steering-column-position-memorization) ).
