CD Storage Box Removal and Installation
Note. Take care not to scratch the console.
Scheme 2
- Wrap the front divider (A) with a shop towel, then grip it with a pair of pliers. Pull the CD storage box (B) up to detach the clips, then remove it.
- Install the CD storage box in the reverse order of removal, and push down on the clip portions of the box securely.
Console Armrest Removal/ Installation
Note. Take care not to scratch the console and armrest.

- Remove the console rear trim (see step 6 in «CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/mdx/i-2000-2006/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#consoles__center-console-removalinstallation) ).
- Remove the screws (A), then remove the rear hinge cover (B). Remove the hinge mounting screws (C).
- Open the armrest (A) and remove the hinge mounting screws, then remove the armrest.
- Install the armrest in the reverse order of removal.
Console Armrest Disassembly/Reassembly
Note. Apply multipurpose grease to the spring of the armrest hinge.

Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014
Note. Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts.

- Remove the console panel (A). -1 Detach the clips (B) by pulling the beverage holder (C) up, then remove it. -2 Remove the shift indicator trim ring (D). -3 Gently detach the clips (E), then remove the console panel. -4 '04-06 models disconnect the footwell light connector (F) and ambient light connector (G).
- Without rear entertainment system: Detach the clips by hand, and remove the center panel lower trim (A).
- With rear entertainment system: Remove the coin pocket (A). Pull the DVD panel (B) out to detach the clips, then remove the panel.
- Remove both front seat riser covers (see «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/mdx/i-2000-2006/remont/seats/#seats__front-seat-removalinstallation) ).
- Detach the clips and release the hooks (A), then remove the driver's console side trim (B) and passenger's console side trim (C).
- Remove both vents (A). Reach into the air vents holes as shown, grab the console rear trim (B) and pull it out. Then disconnect the rear heater-A/C passenger's control panel-unit connector (C).
- Remove the center console (A). -1 On both sides, remove the bolts (B) and screws (C). -2 Detach the harness clip (D). -3 Pull the center console back to detach the clips (E). -4 While lifting up on the console, disconnect the accessory socket subharness connector (F), and remove the console.
- Install the center console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Replace any damaged clips. Make sure all the connectors are plugged in properly. Push the clips into place securely.
