Installing the spring strut

Install

1. the spring strut in the car body with new nuts . Tighten to 25 Nm .

1. the spring strut to the wheel spindle. Use new screws and new nuts . Adjust the spring strut and wheel spindle to the measured value. See «Wheel knuckle / spring strut, calibrating»(ref-407136-S00931330652011070100000) . NOTE: When replacing the shock absorber, the wheel camber alignment must be adjusted. See «Wheel alignment, checking / adjusting»(ref-406988-S29371039442011070100000) . Tighten to 105 Nm . Angle-tighten 90° . Use bevel protractor «9512050»(ref-403953-S36645634772011061000000)
2. the anti-roll bar link to the spring strut. Use a new nut . Tighten to 50 Nm . Counterhold with a Torx wrench to prevent damage to the boot
3. the ABS sensor. NOTE: Ensure that the ABS sensor seat in the wheel spindle is completely clean. Clean the ABS sensor with a soft brush. Tighten the sensor. Tighten to 10 Nm .
4. the ABS sensor cable
5. the wheel. See «Installing wheels»(ref-406900-S36743861182011070100000) .
