WATER PUMP
Note. Water pump is driven by engine timing belt.
Scheme 6
- Remove expansion tank cap. Raise and support vehicle. Remove engine splash cover. Remove right front wheel.
- Open engine and radiator drain valves and drain coolant.
- Remove spark plug cover. Remove 2 fuel line clamps. Lift expansion tank out of its mount and move it over engine to one side. Remove front timing cover.
- Remove fender liner to access vibration damper. Turn crankshaft so timing marks on crankshaft and camshafts are aligned. (Scheme 7)
- Remove accessory drive (serpentine belt). (Scheme 6)

- Remove water pump bolts. (Scheme 8) NOTE: Water pump gasket cannot be reused.
- Clean engine block mating surface. Fit new water pump with new gasket. Tighten bolts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-159919-S29262612652004011500000).
- Reverse procedure to complete installation. Fill and bleed cooling system. See «COOLING SYSTEM»(ref-159919-S08716314052004011500000) under BLEEDING.
