REMOVE

  1. Press one of the catches in. Press the whole cassette towards the side panel until the end is locked in the pressed in position. Repeat the operation on the other side. Lift the cargo compartment cover out.

Note. The foam pads must be removed for washing. See washing instructions on the upholstery.

  1. Pull up the head restraint.

  1. Fold up the child seat and lift it up at the rear edge.

  1. Attach the padded upholstery on the rear edge of the seat cushion.
  2. Fold the seat cushion back into place.

  1. Pull the padded upholstery over the seat cushion's front section and pull the retaining strap (1) under the front edge of the seat cushion.

  1. Pull the padded upholstery up to the head restraint.
  2. Secure the padded upholsteries Velcro straps around the strut (1) of the head restraint.
  1. Adjust the head restraint so that it provides optimum protection for the child's head.

  1. Pull the rear seat center head restraint up
  2. Assemble the stud and the nut. Tighten the nut
  3. Install the studs for the mounting using the nuts.
  1. Screw the mounting into place as high up as possible on the mounting rod for the head restraint.

  1. Install the shims (1) in the grooves in the mounting bracket
  2. Screw the mounting into place as high up as possible on the mounting rod for the head restraint.

  1. Screw the arm and the mirror together.

  1. Screw the mirror into the mounting
  2. Depress the head restraint
  3. Adjust the mirror so that the child seat can be seen in the mirror via the front rear view mirror.

  1. Position the mirror so that the driver can, see the child in all reversed positions in the rear seat.

Note. THE KICK GUARD CAN BE USED IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS

Scheme 43: INSTALL - FRONT PASSENGER SEAT
  1. The kick guard can be installed on the front passenger seat when using the rear facing child seat as illustrated
  2. Thread the elastic straps around the head rest and the backrest of the front seat.

  1. The kick guard can be positioned on the center head restraint when the child seat is installed facing backwards in the rear center seat. Use the uppermost elastic strap as illustrated NOTE: The head restraint must be pulled up. Exception: Not suitable for Volvo models without a head restraint in the rear center seat.

Scheme 45: INSTALL - REAR SEAT
  1. The kick guard can be positioned on the head restraint for the rear seat when the child seat is installed facing backwards in the rear outer seat. Use the uppermost elastic strap as illustrated.

Scheme 46: INSTALL - REVERSE OF FRONT SEAT
  1. The kick guard can be positioned on the reverse of the front seat when the child booster cushion / seat is installed facing forwards in the outer position of the rear seat. Thread the elastic straps around the backrest as illustrated.
  1. Turn the ignition key to position 0. NOTE: Wait at least five minutes before disconnecting the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.

Removing the internal panel for the door handle

  1. Carefully pry off the small internal panel from the door handle. Use a weatherstrip tool positioned opposite the three catches, in the join at the top and bottom.

  1. Carefully pry all the way around the door handle panel and door module so that the six clips release and the trim panel releases from the door panel.

  1. Pull up the panel and door module. Disconnect the connector on the underneath.

Removing the door module

  1. Remove the four screws holding the door module at the panel
  2. Remove the door module.

Installing a new trim panel

  1. Take the new panel from the kit and tighten the door module to it
  2. Connect the connector to the door module
  3. Press the new panel and door module into place. Ensure that the catches engage
  4. Reinstall the small internal panel.
  1. Repeat points 2-5 on all doors.

REMOVE/INSTALL

Note. The following text describes how to install the ISOFIX mounting on the left-hand side, it can, however, also be installed on the right-hand side of the rear seat in the corresponding way.

  1. Fold the left-hand seat cushion and rear seat backrest forward.

  1. Grasp the upper edge of the left-hand side cushion A. Pull the side cushion forward so that the clips on the reverse release.
  2. Remove the side cushion by sliding it upwards.

  1. Remove the screw for the left-hand rear backrest mounting in the body. Fold up the bracket over the mounting in the backrest.
  2. Lift up the free end of the backrest and pull it off from the right.
  3. Position the backrest behind the backrest of the front seats.

  1. Pull off the rear edge of the floor carpet from the floor support. Fold the carpet to one side to expose the attachment points for the ISOFIX mounting in the floor.
  2. Remove the screws from the support bracket, new screws are in the kit.
  3. Remove the cover plug from the floor, it will no longer be used.

  1. Install the ISOFIX mounting, from the kit, over the weld nuts. Tighten the mounting using the two screws. Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lbf. ft.) .

  1. Fold the floor carpet back into place and insert the ISOFIX mounting's eyelets in the two cut-outs. Insert the rear edge of the floor carpet under the floor support. If necessary, pry up the floor support to make room.
  2. Reinstall the backrest. Tighten the screws to 40 Nm (30 lbf. ft) .
  3. Reinstall the side bolster.
  4. Fold the seat cushion back into place.

  1. Fold the central arm rest forward.
  2. Remove the central arm rest by grasping each end and pulling upwards until it releases at the rear edge from the backrest's lugs (1).
  3. Then pull forwards until the holders (2) on the sides of the backrest have slid out of the corresponding cut-out (3) in the central arm rest.

  1. Fold the backrest forward.
  2. Remove the panel for the backrest's left-hand mounting.

  2. Pull it out from the mounting at the armrest and remove it.

  1. Insert the mounting under the insulation panel and move the brackets up in the slots in the insulation panel

  1. Take the two screws from the kit. Tighten the mounting. Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lbf. ft.) .

  1. Reinstall the backrest. Check that it is securely in its mountings.

  1. Secure the backrest in the left-hand mounting with the screw and lock pin.
  2. Tighten the backrest and check that it is securely in its mountings. Torque tighten the screw to 25 Nm (18.5 lbf. ft.) .

Scheme 67: REINSTALL THE CENTRAL ARM
  1. Reinstall the central arm rest by grasping each end, moving it up towards the backrest lugs (1) and aligning the holders (2) in the backrest's sides in the central arm rest's cut-out (3).
  2. Then press the central armrest down at the rear edge so that the lugs (1) engage in the cut-out (4). A click should be heard when the central armrest is secured.

  1. Fold down the floor carpet on the right-hand side of the tunnel console.

  1. Remove the rear screw in the center console mounting.

  1. Install the left-hand mounting with the existing screw. Torque tighten the screw to 24 Nm (18 lbf. ft.) .

  1. Fold the floor carpet back under the mounting.
  2. Mark with a pen where the mounting eyelet shall go through the carpet.

  1. Make a small cut in the floor carpet opposite the marking, equally as wide as the mounting eyelet.

  1. Fold the carpet back over the mounting eyelet and refit it at the center console.

  1. Remove the cover panel over the front right-hand mounting by carefully prizing it off with a weatherstrip tool.

  1. Remove the screw in the mounting.

  1. Make a small T-shape cut in the floor carpet, equally as wide as the mounting eyelet on the mounting in the position as illustrated. Use the mounting to mark where the small cut should be located.

  1. Insert the mounting eyelet through the small cut in the floor carpet. Position the mounting over the hole and the guide pin in the seat rail with the washer on top.
  2. Reinstall the screw. Torque tighten the screw to 50 Nm (37 lbf. ft.) .
  3. Reinstall the cover panel over the seat mounting.

Scheme 79: REMOVAL
  1. Take the protective cushion and locate the child seat in its correct position with the protective cushion between the seat's backrest and the dashboard. The lower edge of the protective cushion must be approximately edge to edge with the lower edge of the dashboard.
  2. Mark out the lower edge of the protective cushion on the end face of the seat with a strip of tape.

  1. Wash the back of the child seat for affixing the Velcro strap using a mixture of 30% washer fluid and 70% water as indicated by the marking.
  2. Wipe dry.

  1. Pull off one Velcro strap from the protective cushion. NOTE: Do not pull only on the white protective tape.

  1. Pull off the protective tape from the detached Velcro strap.
  2. Press the Velcro strap into the center of the backrest and according to the tape marking in the lower edge.
  3. Press the protective cushion into the seat's backrest.
  4. Remove the tape marking.
