Optical Test
Check whether parts of the steering column indicate damage.
If damage is detected, the complete steering column must be replaced.
Function Test
Test Requirement
- Steering column universal joint pull off from steering gear.
Check whether steering column can be turned easily and without catching.
Check whether steering column length and height are adjustable.
Check dimension -a-.

If a malfunction has already been detected in one of these tests, the steering column is damaged.
In this case, replace steering column.
