2.5L - Engine Assembly - Engine Code(s): Bpr & Bps (Hatchback): Overhaul Volkswagen Beetle A4 facelift

ENGINE, SECURING ON ASSEMBLY STAND

Special tools and workshop equipment required

1. Lifting tackle 3033
2. Shop crane VAS 6100
3. Engine and transmission holder VAS 6095
4. Engine lateral bracket T03001
5. Transport arm T03002

When performing work, secure the engine using the T03001 to the VAS 6095.

Remove the transmission. Refer to one of the following

1. [For transmission(s) 02E] TRANSMISSION, REMOVING [For transmission(s) 02J] TRANSMISSION, REMOVING or refer to «[For transmission(s) 0A4] TRANSMISSION, REMOVING»(ref-492706-S27683159932012080600000) or refer to [For transmission(s) 02M] TRANSMISSION, REMOVING
2. «[For transmission(s) 09G] TRANSMISSION»(ref-492697-S17339796772012080600000) or refer to [For transmission(s) 01M] TRANSMISSION .

Remove the clamp -1- for the wiring harness, remove the bolts -3- and remove the shield -2-.

Scheme 51

Disconnect the harness connectors -1 and 2- and remove the bracket -3- bolts -arrow-.

Scheme 52

Install the T03002 as shown.

Scheme 53

The pin -1- engages in the cylinder block. Tighten the knurled bolt -2- hand tight.

Install the T03001.

Scheme 54

Tighten bolts -1 and 3- to 40 Nm, and bolt -2- to 25 Nm.

Note. Bolts are designed so that they cannot be lost. When removing, the T03001 must be held at tension in the direction of withdrawal, otherwise the bolt -1- cannot be loosened.

Engage the 3033 as shown and lift out the engine using the VAS 6100 and the VAG 1383A.

Secure the engine on the VAS 6095.
