SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The power window control system controls the power window UP/DOWN function using the power window regulator motors. The main controls of this system are the master switch, which is built into the driver side door, and the power window regulator switches, which are built into the front passenger side door and rear doors*1, *2. *1: for Double Cab *2: for CrewMax Pressing either of the power window switch on the power window regulator switches or either of the power window switches on the master switch transmits an UP/DOWN signal to the corresponding power window regulator motor. The power window control system (for back window glass) controls the power window open/close function using the power window regulator motor. The main control of this system is the back door power window regulator switch assembly*1, *2. *1: for Double Cab, for Power Slide Type *2: for CrewMax
- FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT The power window control system consists of the following components: Component Outline Master Switch Controls power window operation for all windows. When window lock switch is set to lock position, window operation will only be possible with driver side switch. Power Window Switch Located on front passenger side door and rear doors*1, *2. Each power window switch controls power window operations for its respective window. Power Window Regulator Motor Receives power window switch signals and activates motor to change window position. Back Door Power Window Regulator Switch*2, *3 Controls power window operation for back window glass. Power Window Regulator Motor (for Back Window Glass)*2, *3 Receives back door power window regulator switch signals and activates motor to change window position. *1: for Double Cab *2: for CrewMax *3: for Double Cab, for Power Slide Type
- SYSTEM FUNCTION The power window control system has the following functions: Function Outline Manual UP function Function that raises a window while the power window switch or master switch is pulled up (the window stops as soon as the power window switch is released). Manual DOWN function for Driver Side: Function that lowers a window while the master switch is pushed halfway down (the window stops as soon as the master switch is released). for Other Sides: Function that lowers a window while the power window switch is pushed down (the window stops as soon as power the window switch is released). AUTO DOWN function (for Driver Side) Function that enables a window to be fully opened by one full push of the master switch. Remote UP/DOWN function Function that allows the master switch to control manual UP/DOWN function of the front passenger side power window and rear power windows*1, *2. Window lock function Function where power window regulator switch assembly and rear switches*1, *2 operations are disabled when the window lock switch of the master switch is pressed. Power window regulator switch assembly and rear switches*1, *2 can be operated when the window lock switch is pressed again. Key-off operation function Function that makes it possible to operate all power windows for approximately 43 +/-1.5 seconds after the ignition switch is turned OFF when the front side door have not been opened. If 43 +/-1.5 seconds have passed or a front side door is opened while the AUTO DOWN function is operating, window operation stops. *1: for Double Cab *2: for CrewMax
DESCRIPTION
With the ignition switch ON, the master switch transmits remote switch signals to the regulator switches of the front passenger door power window and rear door power windows*1, *2. Then, each power window regulator switch drives its respective power window regulator motor.
HINT
The front passenger side power window and rear power windows*1, *2 cannot be operated when the window lock switch of the master switch is pressed.
- *1: for Double Cab
- *2: for CrewMax
- If the driver side manual UP/DOWN function does not operate, there may be a malfunction in master switch, driver side motor or harness and connector.
