PRECAUTION
- IGNITION SWITCH EXPRESSION HINT: The type of ignition switch used on this model differs according to the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this section. Expression Ignition Switch (position) Engine Switch (condition) Ignition Switch off Off Off Ignition Switch ON ON On (IG) Ignition Switch ACC ACC On (ACC) Engine Start START Start
- PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING TECHSTREAM When using the Techstream to troubleshoot the LIN communication line: Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn the courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins. After all DTCs are cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 6 seconds after the ignition switch is turned ON.
- POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM PRECAUTIONS NOTE: The power window control system uses a multiplex communication system (LIN). Inspect the communication function by following HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING. Troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly. The power window control system prohibits the AUTO UP / DOWN function when the jam protection function malfunctions. Therefore, troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that no diagnostic codes are displayed. When the front door window regulator (on the driver side) or the power window regulator motor assembly (on the driver side) is replaced, the power window control system must be initialized.Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-493580-S34500763462012081000000) . After a door glass or a door glass run has been replaced, the jam protection function may operate unexpectedly when the AUTO UP function is used. In such cases, the AUTO UP function can be resumed by repeating the following operation at least 5 times: Close the power window by fully pulling up the power window switch and holding it at the AUTO UP position. Open the power window by fully pushing down the switch. The jam protection function may operate unexpectedly even when the power window control system is normal, due to detection of the different operation learned value when the door glass moving speed changes sharply under any of the following conditions: A power window being opened or closed while the vehicle is running on a rough road. A power window being opened or closed while the door is being opened or closed. A sharp voltage change. Do not disconnect the battery while the ignition switch is ON. Otherwise DTC B2311 will be output.

INITIALIZATION
| WARNING | When the power window regulator motor assembly (on the driver side) is reinstalled or replaced, the power window control system must be initialized. Functions such as the AUTO UP / DOWN, jam protection and key-off do not operate if the initialization is not performed. |
Note. When the power window regulator motor assembly (on the driver side) is replaced, DTC B2313 is output. Clear the DTC after the initialization. When the initialization cannot be completed successfully, LIN communication problems are a possible cause, therefore the LIN system needs to be inspected. When performing initialization, do not perform any other procedures. After a door glass or a door glass run has been replaced, the jam protection function may operate unexpectedly when the AUTO UP function is used, due to detection of the different operation learned value of the door glass movement speed. In such cases, the AUTO UP function can be resumed by repeating the following operation at least 5 times: Open the power window by fully pushing down the switch. Close the power window by fully pulling up the power window switch and holding it at the AUTO UP position.
- INITIALIZE POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (ON DRIVER SIDE)) HINT: By resetting the door glass position of the driver door power window (the pulse sensor), the power window regulator motor (on the driver side) is initialized. Connect the battery and turn the ignition switch ON. The AUTO Light of the power window regulator master switch flashes when the initialization preparation is complete. *1: Fully open the driver door power window by pressing down the driver door power window switch, and continue pressing it for at least 1 second after the window is fully opened. *2: Fully close the driver door power window by pulling up the switch, and continue pulling it up for at least 1 second after the window is fully closed. The driver door power window position is reset (the pulse sensor is initialized), and the power window regulator master switch AUTO Light changes from flashing to continuous illumination to indicate that the initialization has been successfully completed. HINT: If the AUTO Light does not change to continuous illumination, even when step *2 is finished, repeat the procedure from step *1.
FAIL-SAFE CHART
- POWER WINDOW OPERATION IN FAIL-SAFE MODE HINT: If the pulse sensor built into the power window regulator motor (on the driver side) malfunctions, the power window control system enters fail-safe mode. The power window control system prohibits the following power window operation when the pulse sensor for the jam protection function has problems and the window position or the learned value is abnormal. POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM Power window operation Ignition switch ON Key-off (Within approx. 45 seconds after ignition switch turned off) Key-off (After approx. 45 seconds elapsed after ignition switch turned off) Manual UP Operation prohibited Operation prohibited Operation prohibited Manual DOWN Operative (Jam protection not operative) Operation prohibited Operation prohibited AUTO UP (hold switch at AUTO UP position) Operative (in MANUAL mode) (Jam protection not operative) Operation prohibited Operation prohibited AUTO UP Operation prohibited Operation prohibited Operation prohibited AUTO DOWN Operation prohibited Operation prohibited Operation prohibited HINT: When the pulse sensor is normal, the AUTO UP / DOWN function can be resumed by deactivating fail-safe mode. To deactivate fail-safe mode, pull up the driver door power window switch to the AUTO UP position and hold it for at least 1 second to fully close the window from the fully open position. If the LIN communication system malfunctions (communication blackout), the power window control system prohibits the following operations. LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Power window operation Ignition switch ON MANUAL UP Operative (Jam protection operative) MANUAL DOWN Operative (Jam protection not operative) AUTO UP (hold switch at AUTO UP position) Operative (Jam protection operative)* AUTO UP Operative (Jam protection operative)* AUTO DOWN Operative (Jam protection not operative)* HINT: *: The driver side power window does not operate.
